Destroying the re-sale value of a taxpayer's property is not a legitimate reason.

mean, I get it...it sucks, but it sounds like Entergy had pretty good reasons for why they couldn't place the pole in other locations.

This is bullshite. There are always other options. This is some asshat at Entergy not wanting to waste time to figure out a new location because of 1 resident.

I find it hard to believe they couldn’t figure out how to put it in front of the vet office.

Nor did they receive anything stating that a Sequoia would be planted in front of the house. The least Entergy could do was make it look like a tree.

It's not technically on his property, but the placement has definitely lowered the value should he decide to sell the home.

Turn off the porn. His wife looks lovely, he looks like a normal, law abiding adult.

I'm going to drive by this thing tomorrow I'm so second hand mad for this guy. It's an eyesore just about anywhere, much less right in front of someone's house.

Plenty of room for a utility pole between the meter and the driveway. That is, for a normal sized pole. Not that monstrosity that has no business in a residential area.

Plant a couple of Silver Lace Vines at the base of pole.

Sounds right. Trimming the shrubs usually make to pole look bigger

that’s a right of way easement/pipeline transmission pole not a residential neighborhood pole. Unfortunately Entergy has spent many millions of dollars replacing fallen and broken wood poles recently with all the storms and they are stuck trying to harden the system with governments and regulators beating on them all the time…these giant poles are part of that solution. But I agree there should have been a better solution that pole in a crowded neighborhood is not the answer. It’s ridiculous

They just got done replacing all the highway poles around here with those to get the lines higher and out of all the trees etc

Painting that thing to look like a tree is a must. They should be forced to hire the best damn painter in the world.

Maybe one of the float builders could come up with a faux trunk to put around it.

He should make them hire Disney or something. That's outrageous.

9 times out of 10 you aren’t getting the whole or even remotely correct story. Although it does happen. But I bet this guy is lying his arse off.

A transmission line like that requires a ton of work and equipment to install. Cranes, forklifts, digging equipment, etc. There are safety considerations, and often times the contractors are required to protect adjacent property and people from harm and damage. Point is, I find it hard to believe Entergy just showed up on a Tuesday and set a 80 foot tall Transmission pole without this guy being aware of it. Also you typically are very aware of a utility servitude. And while it sucks, it’s the risk of buying property on a utility servitude.

I remember back in my construction days I built a bunch of national brand pharmacies. One particular one on the west bank had a corner lot purchased that had been rezoned commercial by Jeff Parish. They offered and bought the adjacent houses and lots from residents so they had enough room for parking lots and infrastructure. The folks sold their homes for well about market value and their neighbors were pissed.

Every single house on that street claimed we damaged their homes when we were pile driving. I mean cracks in walls that had been repainted 5 times were “new.” They blamed the chain, blamed us, claimed property value loss, Got a visit from the city councilman that literally approved the rezoning request long before the lot was purchased.

Point is, these things don’t just rammed thru without people knowing.

All of you supporting this guy is the same mindset why we don’t have a loop for BR.

Crying for some guy who owns a fricking shack on Perkins next to businesses that should be widened anyway and he would lose 1/2 his yard.
