Is this irritating to anyone else?
It’s one of the quickest ways to make yourself not look very smart. I immediately think someone is dumb or uneducated when I see that.
It’s also just annoying to have to decipher what they’re trying to say. I guess it makes sense in their own minds, but it’s really hard for someone on the outside to follow what they’re saying sometimes.

Honestly I think skipping punctuation says a lot about a person and not always in a bad way some folks just type the way they talk fast and unfiltered and it feels real and relaxed but on the flip side a wall of words with no periods or commas can make you work way too hard to figure out where one thought ends and the next begins especially in emails where clarity matters and you are trying to get something done quickly I get that texting is casual and nobody needs perfect grammar in a group chat but a little punctuation goes a long way toward making sure your tone lands the way you meant it a period can sound cold and a lack of one can sound chill so maybe its all about knowing your audience and picking the right style for the moment either way I will take a punctuation free message from a friend over no message at all and honestly the real crime is the person who sends ten texts in a row instead of one so if you ask me the no punctuation crowd is fine as long as they keep it readable and kind

I like leaving the second period off when typing two sentences. Like this

Since this is a grammar thread...I appreciate your use of the Oxford comma in your thread title.

I haven’t seen many where punctuation was all that’s lacking.

I once read that the use of punctuation is passive-aggressive. I asked my wife (who works with a lot of younger people) and some of my younger staff and associates, and the answer I got was that it is often viewed as parental, stuffy, or a power move. I can kinda see that. I am old, so I suppose they expect it from me.

People who don’t use the oxford comma are lazy and trashy.

Yes.
Offenders should get jail time and have to spend it picking up trash on the roadside.

My daughter told me that my use of correct grammar and punctuation in texts makes me seem angry. So please don’t use punctuation if I text anyone she knows.
