Don't you travel on a regular basis for work?

Yeah...you should be getting a flu shot every year. Flying anytime between September to March will put you at a higher risk of getting the flu.

Think about it...you are sharing that tiny amount of airspace with how many people? For how many hours?

Went years without getting the flu shot and never got sick.

Got the flu shot this year however, since I now have a young child and I knew I'd be around my sick mother during the holidays. She can't afford to get the flu.

I used to think I had a good immune system, but I swear I have caught every single cold my kid has brought home from daycare. So probably was a good thing I got the shot this year.

Haven’t gotten the flu vaccine since 2006 and have yet to get sick.

Have no plans to ever get the vaccine again

Build up your immune system instead. The only ones that should need a flu shot are the elderly and people fighting diseases. A fully healthy individual doesnt need a flu shot. My immune system is strong enough to fight though that shite without missing a day of work if I even got it. I cant think of one time in the last decade where I was so sick I had to miss 1 day of work because I couldnt get out of bed. I guess Im just lucky.

My first year as a peds nurse I got sick ALL THE TIME. I've heard similar things from other peds nurses and pediatricians when they were residents.

Kids are little germ factories and spread it ALLLLLLL around.

Like I said, I wasn’t bragging. I have nothing against it. I literally have never thought about it is all. Not really on my radar.

Some of those people fighting diseases are not allowed to get any immunizations because they are immunocompromised.

Again...getting the flu shot isn't just about you...it's about you not getting sick so you don't get someone around you sick that could potentially die from the flu(babies, elderly, immunocompromised).

But go ahead and continue being an irresponsible clueless idiot

Don't you have kids?

Pretty irresponsible to not get a flu shot if you are a parent.

I havent gotten a flu shot since college. I usually get a very mild case every year. I count that as a good trade off for the dangers of the shot.

I dont get the flu. Maybe a cold or a cough but im not missing work for that little BS. If your immune system cant handle that, you need to live in a bubble. So yes Im an a-hole because im not missing work for something I can take over the counter medicine to cure.

No you don't. You likely get one of the other NUMEROUS respiratory viruses going around during respiratory season(RSV, HRV, coronavirus, human metapneumovirus, etc, etc).

You mean to tell me you get swabbed and test positive for actual influenza every year?

Never had the flu shot and I never get sick.

However, I do take vitamins (multi, C, E, B12) everyday.
