I haven’t had the flu since 2000, or a flu shot since 2006. I just take good care of myself. Eat right, exercise, etc. I may get a small cold once or twice a year, but even those only last about 3-4 days.

Flu shot is great for those who have compromised immune systems or just for elderly population.
I am neither and I don’t get the flu. (Or If I ever have had it, I just went about my workday anyway)

I usually don't get a flu shot. When I was a kid I got them every year and got the flu just about every year. As an adult I stopped getting them (laziness) and now I don't get the flu.
I got one at the start of flu season last year because I have newborn. Otherwise I wouldn't care.
I know it's all anecdotal coincidence but when you go from getting it most of the time to not getting it at all, it's hard to justify getting it.

Got the flu shot.....haven’t gotten the flu.
OP had to make a thread for all the grown men scared of needles to brag about being too much of a pussy to be a responsible adult and get a flu shot to protect the vulnerable people (young children, elderly family members, those immunocompromised) in your life?

I've gotten the flu shot off and on my adult life, never remember getting the flu.
Definitely got it this past season with an infant in the house. Still no flu.

Last time I got vaccine was 01. Got the flu two weeks later. Haven't had flu since.

In this thread - a bunch of people who self diagnose the "flu" because they had flu like symptoms.
In my experience, about 10% of people who say they have the flu actually have the flu.

I will no longer allow that "vaccine" to be put into my body. I'm just clean and practice good hygiene and that works.

I have never gotten the flu or the flu shot. I may just be lucky. I have started taking a dose of elderbery daily to help prevent.

That’s a nice anecdote but I’ll rely on science to make my judgement.
This.
Idiots in here don't understand how things work.

Not an anti-vaxxer on MMR or other real vaccines but the flu vaccine is ineffective and it does contain mercury that can lead to Alzheimer’s.
You say this, then link an article saying it's 20% effective. Another poster links an article showing it contains thimerosal which is essentially harmless to the human body. That's got to be a record for being proven wrong.

Be nice, he has Alzheimer's.

I didn't get vaccinated but my son did. He came down with the flu on Friday so I'm just waiting to get sick myself.

Not one of these idiots.
How can it be 2019 and people still think the flu shot got them sick???
The shot didn’t give you the flu. It takes at least 2 weeks before the shot offers any protection.
Basically....you didn’t get the shot early enough so it had no time to protect you. You were exposed to the flu in that time.
And yes....the shot isn’t 100% effective. So you can still get the flu. But the shot didn’t make you sick.

chances that the people that claim they "got the flu" after getting the shot actually had the flu?
I'd say 0.1%
More than likely they got a cold and just assumed it was the flu.
