About a decade ago I was sitting in parking lot in my car and a car pulls up next to me. A black girl gets out and steps to her rear passenger door to grab something out. I have no idea what she was thinking or she forgot that there was a car next to her but she opens the door as hard as she could and hits my car. It sounded like someone had threw a baseball at my car as hard as they could and my car shook. I was so shocked and it was so awkward I didn’t even get out and tell her anything and she walked off quickly.

The problem is that some people don’t understand that you sometimes have to slither out of your car
They have to throw the door wide open or they can’t get out
And developers who make the spaces tiny. Here in Tuscaloosa the worst are at Midtown village and the Tuscaloosa Galleria. I swear they are sized for motorcycles instead of cars and trucks.

I park as far away as possible and get some exercise walking to the store.
As a kid my mom would spend so much time go up and down each lane trying to find the closest parking spot to the store she could. Always bothered me, in my adult years I definitely just look for an area with plenty of open spots and just walk the extra 20 yards

Drop the mic. Best response I’ve seen in months

Had a guy do that to me as I was on a call at a medical office Dude slammed his door into my driver door and I was backed in and he saw me and walked off. I started praying immediately at asked for strength.

A while back, parked far away. Came back from the store and witnessed a guy slam his door into mine. Said something like "you just did that" and he apologized and offered to pay for damages. Turns out he is a veteran, a young man, and he was with his dad. Realized that the young vet was a kind person and his mind wasn't all there. I told him to forget about it, it happens, and thanked him for his service.

I know how to park so I don’t it, but if you park right on my door because you can’t park, be prepared for a dent in your door when you get back because I’m knocking the heck out of your door when I get back in mine.
It rarely happens but every once in a while you get some idiot who parks 4 inches off your door and when they do I make them pay.

I was in a rental stopped at a convenience store in Denver back in 2004. Someone pulled up next to me and the passenger opened their door hard into the me, like she didn't give a frick. She never looked at me as I was sitting in the driver's seat. She just got out, closed her door and started walking away like it was no big deal.
I rolled down the window and shouted, "Hey!" She looked at me and said, "Sorry." I opened my door hard into their car door, "Yeah, oops. Sorry back atcha'!"
I looked over and saw I'd made a nice little ding. "I guess we're square now. Bye."
Put my car in reverse. Backed out and left her and her boyfriend, who had gotten out on his side looking at their door ding and flipping me off in my rear view mirror.
I said to myself, "Hasta la vista, baby", and stuck my arm out the window and flipped the bird in return.
Good times. Hertz pointed out the door ding when I returned the car. I said, "good thing I got that insurance add-on."
Would never do that now. People will shoot you, today.

This is why I park at a distance when going to a store. Away from other vehicles as best as possible.
I can walk the extra 30 to 40 feet.

I have terrible luck. I never park anywhere near anyone and scratches always appear on my car out of nowhere.
Meanwhile I walk past coworkers cars that always park right in the thick of it and they don’t have a scratch on it.
