Got a "lifetime" monthly monitoring fee if $22 back in the 90s and have had it ever since (went with me when I moved).
Definitely worth it considering the discount I get on my homeowners insurance for it.

The neighborhood next to mine in the far north burbs of Dallas had a house robbed at gun point. They hit two other houses in different neighborhoods. The bound the family up and took belongings.

My house came with an alarm system, but we do not use it. We have a 100lbs dog. The dog will probably lick the intruder if they get in, but he sounds scary as hell from the outside

8 years plus in a suburb and no alarm payments. Question is fair in normal states.

I agree with ya. Alarms are a pain in the azz. 99% of people don't have anything worth stealing. TVs and stereos are inexpensive. They just want lawn equipment and power tools from your shed they can sell for quick cash.

Live in the suburbs and pay for one. Not really any crime in my neighborhood but once or twice had some strange people knock or ring at night. I have the cheapest ADT there is... gives me peace of mind to set it
