How does that work? Say, you're sleeping, and someone manages to slip in without waking you. Are you just leaving a recording for the police after you're dead?

Camera has a motion/ people sensors that puts a sound alert on your phone... Person triggers the outside cameras before getting into the house...

Great, if you're a light sleeper. Glass breakage sensors, magnetic broken contact sensors, though, trigger a loud high-pitched sound, and if you're deaf, strobe lights designed to wake you up and after about 15 seconds trigger both a notice to the alarm company and a horn alarm in the attic that wakes up the neighborhood. Only a highly dedicated and determined intruder is continuing to stay in.

That said, I stopped paying for a monitored service 20 years ago. The worst crimes around here are usually porch thieves and that's still highly unusual.

Like what? My guns are in a safe that's bolted to the floor. Cash in the bank. I could understand if you had valuable artwork or collectibles out, but otherwise the risk versus reward of a security system isn't there.

Police response to a home alarm is going to be at least a 30 minutes. The neighbors aren't going to do anything. That's plenty of time for someone to come in, grab anything that's not secure, and be gone.

I pay alot for mine. Food, vet care, etc. An Anatolian and 80 lb. staffy. The Anatolian doesn’t like strange. Good luck to whomever breaches my doors or windows.
