Eli Lilly releases new data from potentially game-changing weight loss drug trial
An experimental drug from Eli Lilly has the potential to provide greater weight loss benefits than any drug currently on the market.
The experimental drug, retatrutide, helped people lose, on average, about 24% of their body weight, the equivalent of about 58 pounds, in a mid-stage clinical trial, the company said Monday from the American Diabetes Association's annual meeting in San Diego. The findings were simultaneously published in The New England Journal of Medicine.

Huh? I shoot this in diabetic turds to get their CBG up, how does this correlate to appetite suppression or thyroid stimulation?

A pill can’t be the solution for everything. People need to count their excess sugars, carbs, and avoid the high fructose corn syrup that’s in everything. Diets need to be a lifestyle and not just a 3 month bender, or else the person will just gain all the weight back. Starvation isn’t the way. It also slows down metabolism.

Proud to not be reliant on big pharma.
Not yet at least (in my 40s).

You couldn’t be more right in my opinion. I don’t know why people are down voting you for this

The drugs have been “transformative to say the least,” Levy said. “They’ve given so many people hope that felt sort of helpless in this fight against the disease of obesity.”
Yeah, some "disease".
You consume the wrong things in the wrong amount, you get fat. That's not a god damn disease. That's how it's SUPPOSED to work.

Calories in < calories out
That's the key to weight loss. Bottom line

Maybe you are anticipating a wave of healthy eating and personal accountability but I am not so optimistic.

As cold as it may sound, IMO, all these new weight loss drugs are dependent on cost/benefit. Do the potential benefits of these drugs in regards to money saved on treating chronic diseases caused by obesity outweigh the side-effects?
Americans aren't going to change their lifestyles. That's on them. Will these drugs help curb the ridiculous amounts of money spent on healthcare for fat people? I don't know, but if so they should put it in the tap water.

Imagine having to take a pill to lose weight when all you have to do is simply eat a little less food and move around more.

You get this message of self-discipline out of here. We'll have none of that antiquated thinking in these parts, patnuh.

I have a legitimate thyroid condition that impacts my metabolism, but the fact that I am overweight is because I eat like shite, drink too much and don't get enough exercise. frick these people.

And all for the low low price of $3500/month!

There will be horrific side effects. There always are. They may suppress them until Eli makes their billions but hundreds of thousands will suffer.

Anesthesiologists are unhappy because it slows the stomach emptying. Which is how they are losing weight. You feel full longer.
That has to have long term consequences. Food sitting in your gut up to hours longer than it should.

We are reaching a point where there is no accountability for our actions.
Take a pill for that
You’re a victim
You deserve it
