I would have given him about five minutes. Lately it seems like lots of folks have a case of the lazys and I'm about done with it. Escalate that shite.

Sounds like they're in on it or they are too close to the parties involved.

Plot twist. Wrecker shop owner is the former sheriff. Errebody is covering for errebody.

Nope. The battery was dead that was all. When I pulled the seat to jump start it there was something hidden under the seat that added another twist to this. This motorcycle is just the gift that keeps on giving. When I found what I found I was just thinking "no way... no one will believe this."

I was able to get it fired up and ran it up and down the road. The clutch switch was jumped out with an alligator clip when I picked it up. It's got some weird electrical issue but I'll figure it out.

Everything in this thread is 100% truth. I can’t tell you how many times BruceJender or I have called each other and said “you’re not going to believe this” pertaining to something new we learned related to this stolen motorcycle.

The last time it happened was day before yesterday.

I’d love to fill you in but these things being common knowledge could jeopardize building a case. I’m not going to do that after all this.

Can we stop bumping this cock tease until the OP or his lackey delivers? Everytime I see it I'm disappointed.

No... Believe it or not, it's more satisfying than that. It's mere existence implicates someone in a crime. At this moment, that person is likely freaking out because of it too.

I've decided I'm going to elevate it on Monday for a few reasons no matter what.

Probably best. You gave local Barney every opportunity and he has played ignorant to avoid dropping the hammer. He, apparently, does not want them arrested. Either he is friends with one of the guilty, or someone he is close to is. A good rule of thumb is always, if something is odd and seems illegal and you want to know why, follow the money.

You are doing a good job.

Major respect to you for following through with all of this. There are enough shitty people in the world. They weren't prepared for someone dedicated to doing the right thing. I'm a lawyer (not of the criminal practice variety) and would be willing to help if necessary.

I'd also tell you to stay strapped, but I imagine that's not a warning you need. Criminals make very dumb, impulsive decisions.

Just a guess... recent registration or title for the bike? (Which would obviously require fraud/forgery as it was a stolen bike)

I’m good with waiting for the story if there keeps being more pieces added to it. I’m all about the most entertainment possible. And we’ve waited this long, so what’s even longer really?

I’m to the point where I honestly have no idea what this could be and where it’s heading. All I know is I haven’t looked forward to a thread update this much in a very long time here. And I can’t wait to read it and dive into it once we get the story, regardless of if it even pays off with law enforcement in the end.

Keep doing what you’re doing, OP and eitek. Sounds like y’all have stuck to the book so far and have your ducks in a row. Keep it up and update us with any developments.

This thread is the light in the darkness that will lead us out of the covid era.

It is irrefutable proof of a benevolent God.

It is aqua vitae falling upon the cracked lips of a message board lost in the desert.

Please tell me it’s photos or video recordings of stuff going down at the shop. I’d say drugs but that’s hard to pinpoint to a specific person unless fingerprints are taken.
