This is going to end with a bigger dud than Ted’s Caving Story

I agree. I’d call the state AG’s office. Quit fricking around with these local “good ole boys”.

Did you turn over what you found under the seat?

Going to second Basshorn on it being fraudulent registration papers. One, bc that’s where you’d keep them on a bike, under the seat. And two, bc Eitek is doing a good job of updating this thread. He confirmed it wasn’t a gun pretty quick after another poster suggested it. But hasn’t responded either way to Basshorns post. The non answer says something to me.
If that’s the case it’s def a big deal. Bc someone at shop forged paperwork. Also either an attorney or local notary is in on it too bc someone had to sign off on “bill of sale” to get said paperwork. It being a small town chances are that one of parties involved (or maybe both) know people at sheriffs office. Which may be why local investigator is dragging his feet. Just my .02.

This has been an interesting thread. Looking forward to the conclusion. Boys in blue are protecting the shop.
I do, however, wonder about your safety. It’s great to play hero, but is the hassle of fighting dirty cops, cartel related chopshop worth the squeeze? It’s a beautiful bike though no doubt and good luck with the conclusion however that may turn out

Anybody want to rate this thread 1 - 10 for me? Hesitant about going back through vs. just reading my book

Thanks for your concern. I’m a guy that never sits with his back facing the door when nothing is going on already. I’m going to be fine...
I told the Investigator the last time we talked “this is only one stolen motorcycle and it’s been recovered and so on, but these people are likely screwing your constituents to death. This isn’t the first time they’ve done this and the folks they normally do this to likely don’t have the knowledge or wherewithal to protect themselves”.
Also, at this point my hand is being forced. The folks on the other end of this have doubled down on stupid and required that this be pushed. In other words, at this point I couldn’t drop it if I wanted to.
ETA: It’s likely this is just a small group of folks that have been screwing people for so long they’ve become brazen. I don’t think they pose any threat to my safety at this time.

something hidden under the seat
Buddy of mine test drove a car one time and found an ounce of primo weed in the glove box, apparently the brothers that were cleaning the cars left it in there.
They were all staring at him as he turned it back in a rode off grinning with a bag of weed in his pocket

I guess they could have reported it to the cops if they were stupid or something

Nah - he asked the manager if he knew who's bag of weed was in the glove box but no one would claim it so he figured it was community property
