It’s called getting dirty for a reason. Yes, very weird. Couldn’t imagine dragging some chick back and asking her to shower.

That seems like the recipe for a very limited sex life.
Not only does she have to want to have sex, has to be right out of the shower. The combination of those two doesn't seem like it gives many opportunities

I mean...we aren’t that young anymore and usually have kids in the house. 2-3 times a month and it’s usually at bedtime after we’ve both showered. Not much spontaneity at this point in our lives

Yes. This seems like one of the limiting factors a woman would put on sex "prerequisites".
Others are:
1. No headache
2. Not tired/ exhausted
3. Workday has to have been at least OK
4. Not feeling fat about themselves
5. No Parents visiting
6. No one could hear

You lose THAT smell, THAT taste. I'm not a fan of going down for a whiff of strawberry golden honey body wash or rosemary peppermint. I want the sex smell...unless of course your wife has an off-putting odor.
