True story once when I was locked up in the house of detention like 6th or 7th floor. Some inmates in one of the cells were able to pop the locks and escape down the back stairwells. They would come back in the morning before head count. They would have bags of Popeyes and all kinds of shite in their cell in the morning.

Can absolutely confirm this. An exit door at the back corner of the prison had a malfunctioning lock. Inmates would go in and out to run errands.

How difficult it is to get a working lock installed on a prison door?

Several of those inmates are facing second-degree murder charges

Basically just your average 9th ward resident out for a stroll

one inmate would walk around with a pistol. Apparently he only had one round.

Why did they even bother coming back? That sounds like some Andy Griffith shite.

they were all pre-trial just waiting for their court date in a couple months. Playing the odds they would all be released anyway. So why screw that up by getting caught escaping
