One valuable lesson I have learned over the past decade when it comes to the Super Bowl.

Don’t watch the Super Bowl and especially the halftime show and you won’t be disappointed. Disappointment is the standard I expect.

I’m sure you were anticipating a player kneeling for the anthem

Think about all the swollen heads that are sitting in Philly jails right now thinking that they shouldn't have acted the way they did last night...

I feel the same way about this thread. Was hoping on the off chance I'd see a titty with a pasty.

Move aside you fossil. This is our world now! We don't need your stuffy musical talent and competitive sporting contests...this is the new order of things and we are leaving you behind. That car was cool and the do-rag dancers swarming around the mumbling guy were incredible. And did you see Taylor Swift?? Sorry that the world and all if its many pleasures has passed you by

Agreed. I hate fun excuses to get together with a large group of friends and acquaintances.

Everyone at the bar I was at enjoyed it. Not my thing personally, but it was a well-produced show.

I think it’s crazy the amount of people that act excited for Super Bowl ads. Me personally, I don’t give a frick to be sold on some shitty advertisement. It’s like a corporate lie we’ve been led to believe “omg SB ads” so they can influence us with our consent. No thanks.

Of course it is. Did you see the graphics on how much the ads have increased in price over the past 20 years. It's all a fabricated scam to get the advertisers to pay more. Once the advertisers say enough is enough, then there will be some change but until then, it's going to continue to be part of the game.

they're like SNL, haven't been funny or interesting for decades but people keep watching because at one time they were and keep hoping for a glimpse of the past, Charlie Brown and Lucy with the football

The halftime show isn't my style of music, and I don't care for the Chiefs/Eagles but I still enjoyed the game.

To the contrary

I watch it so that I can be part of the cultural conversation

I need to know what the everyman thinks so I can go in the other direction and exert my superiority over his ignorant view

Which is, coincidentally, how I became a Kendrick fan to begin with. It's also how I became a fan of soccer, IPAs, Kamala Harris, and NPR, and how I contracted long COVID.
