This. Any time I see a double knot tie guy I know they are one generation removed from the trailer park.

The double Windsor is a visible sign of cultural divide between the wearer and the plebians. How will they know their betters if they can't see it?

Yes, a single knot tie. It’s asymmetrical and half assed.

I've always used a double Windsor, proper classic knot. My dad was a Brit, that was all he used and I learned it from him. If you are making it too wide you're either tying it wrong or need to choose a better tie.

Which is why mingo is double Winsor all the time...

The reason you have so many downvotes is because you're a dumbass attention seeking little twat.

I've tied a simple knot my entire tie-wearing life and have never, knot once, had anyone mention anything about it. And I would venture I wear ties more than most on the board.

Pun intended.

You're getting downvoted but it's probably by people that don't know how to tie anything except a single knot tie. It's an ugly way to wear a tie. You can learn how to tie a half windsor knot in 5 minutes and look drastically better and more professional.

Windsor or half-Windsor when wearing a suit. Four-in-hand when in uniform or if wearing a sport coat and slacks. Also, if wearing a suit, having a matching kerchief in the breast pocket counts for bonus points and sartorial perfection.

If you are tying him up with his tie, my guess he is saying nothing

If he is tying you up with his tie, what knot do you prefer?

Asking for a friend who still wears ties.

Matching tie and pocket square is a big sartorial faux pas

A Double Windsor is a wide knot tied correctly, unless your tie is super cheap. They work well with some collars and poorly with others. If you wear a wide range of collar types then you need, at a minimum, two knots.

Half or full Windsor depending on the shirt and jacket.
