People ask if we're going to try for a boy. Hell no.

I'd be 45 before it was born and I don't care about having a boy anyway.

I get PTSD just thinking about the first months/years. Plus I would be a nervous wreck worrying about birth defects, then SIDS and all the other stuff that comes with babies.

I'm happy with two.

I was 40 when I had my last. I get lots of jokes about being his granddad. I will say that being older and set in my career allowed me to have more time for him than his older brothers.

I was 41 and 45. Just made 52. I have more patience although I’ve always had patience. Can’t run as fast as I could 10 or 20 years ago of course. Hell I don’t run at all now. My boy is 7 playing soccer so it is a little challenge to practice with him. Should have had kids in my late 20’s early 30’s but I can afford anything for them now. No financial stress.

I'm 56 with a 16-year-old, as my dad was before me. My 16-year-old is extremely self sufficient, so that makes it much easier.

I do miss driving car pool for him.

Stay in shape and it is easier. I really got into cardio at age 40 and that helped a ton.

Got a late start due to divorce then cancer. Boys 20 months apart. I’m 48 and they’re 2 and 4 and my visions of grandparent help were a tad ambitious. It’s pretty much what I imagine jungle warfare to be like.

A lot of my friends are having kids latter if they worked a ton of hours in their 20s. Not ideal but it is what it is.

It’s definitely not ideal. I wish I could’ve had my son younger. I didn’t purposely put off having a kid til 39, but that’s when it happened. My H was upper 40s.

I wouldn’t trade it for anything, but I absolutely recommend having them while you’re young if you can.

My forebears were a prolific bunch late in life. I was 40. My grandfather was 55 when his last (of 12) children were born. His father, my great grandfather, was 61 when my grandfather was born. So, basically, from my great grandfather to my daughter who is 35 years old, fourth generation, is two hundred and ten years. James Madison was president when my great grandfather was born.

We have a 20 year old and a 9 year old, we were both working when our oldest was coming up so the oldest didn’t get the same attention as our youngest continues to get on a daily basis but sometimes shite happens. Both of our children have a better shot at life than we did, and at the end of the day all that matters is our kids doing better.

I was 39 (for 3 weeks) when my only kid graduated high school. I couldn't image starting at 40 myself, but I know many who did or are doing it.
