It was a dig at the FAA certification process.

Just roll a joint with some DMT, Salvia, and PCP mixed in. Then snort a couple rails before dropping acid and eating shrooms.

If that don't get you mile-high, nothing will.

I just see this thing going full Hindenburg with the quickness…or Russia/North Korea shooting it down quickly

Pretty sure he just thought "to hell with aerodynamics and physics, anything will fly with enough engines! Right? That's why I'll give it 20!"

No way that thing would ever be able to get airborne at that size, 20 engines or 200

I was at a Rockies game a few months ago and we left our good seats in the 7th to go up and sit in Mile High Seats before the game was over. I didn't get laid but had a hot dog in my mouth.
Was pretty cool. It's the purple row of seats. Those are right at 5280'

How do the jet engines work if they're not powered by hydrocarbon fuel?

They aren’t jet engines. They’re just electric-powered fans. Modern commercial airliner engines are high-bypass turbofans, where the fan (the “bypass” around the turbine) produces the vast majority of the thrust.

The power from the turbine is used to turn the fan, rather than creating thrust directly via exhaust gas. The same thing could be accomplished with any other power source, turbines just happen to be the most efficient technology that we have today.

The wheels down configuration actually adds super extra lift instead of drag like most of you think. The only downside is you are limited to boarding by the number of Naval Aviators available as it appears you have to land on a stick; which I assume would be like calling the ball and catching the arresting cable on a carrier. But then again what the hell do I know. Absolutely, nothing!
