That's not what I asked you, but to this tangent point, I couldnt care fricking less if my neighbor would do this, but I've been doing my best for awhile now to not let my insecurities turn me into a judgmental prick.

I wouldnt be happy, nor upset. Im completely indifferent. I just don't care what color my neighbor wants to paint their house, and I definitely don't think a governing body should be able to tell someone what's aesthetically allowed or not allowed. We have way too much governing over trivial shite in this country as it is.

Absolutely, but so are people that landscape their property with palm trees and aren't living in a tropical state. The point is, none of it really matters and if you give a shite that much about your neighbors shite taste in color schemes then maybe your metrics and what you derive happiness in life from are off.

I honestly think it would be detrimental to home values. The HOA in my neighborhood is pretty vigilant when enforcing violations. It’s a pain in the arse but our resale values are relatively high comparatively with other similar neighborhoods. I believe this is in part to keeping the community up to the standards everyone agreed to when buying their house. As bad as they are perceived, HOAs do help in protecting home values.
But I get how some people would prefer to live in a neighborhood without restrictions and have the freedom to do as they please. For me though, I like having the peace of mind knowing my neighbor is not going to do something like this or let his property fall into despair.
