I understand that I dont want a shitty pink house next to mine and will gladly pay a monthly fee to keep shite heads like that out of my frame of view.

A nearby pink house isn't going to knock 100,000 dollars off the value of your home.

But it is going to depreciate your home’s value, likely substantially, and your ability to sell. Seriously, this really wouldn’t bother you?

Wow. I'm having this installed this very afternoon. I wonder if I should have checked with the HOA...

telling me that your neighborhood has a HOA would lower it's value in my mind moreso than having pink house as a neighbor

I wouldn't say anything to the guy. The house would just burn down in the middle of the night.

You can do something like this to prove a point all day long and I can burn your house down just to prove I can also.

So you're telling me that if you get your hypothetical house appraised in this neighborhood prior to and then after this pink house is painted that the value of your home will drop "substantially" because of the paint scheme of this neighboring house?

I think HOAs are a necessary evil that are created to prevent this exact type of shite. I can’t believe anybody on this board would truthfully be happy to have this guy as a neighbor unless they lived in some eclectic neighborhood like Spanish Town.

Checking in. Would prefer this guy who stays on his property and minds his own business 10-1 over some retired a-hole poking around my yard measuring how far my trash cans are from the curb.

"Just a reminder. Your trash can was on the curb at 7:02 PM. All trash cans must be moved behind your fence out of sight no later than 6:00 pm the day of trash removal. The next occurrence will result in a $25.00 fine."

Who has time for this?

imagine giving some 55 year old Brenda the ability to put a lien on your house because you didn't conform to their absurd building guidelines when you built your shed in your backyard

but yeah...I'm supposed to love HOAs

Is anyone's HOA really that bad? I have lived in a subdivision with an HOA for 8 years now and had zero problems.
