re: Night time house lock down check in thread

We usually turn off most the lights downstairs but may or may not get them all. Almost never lock the door. Its so uncommon to come home when no one is there and finding the door locked that I always have to try to remember if I have a key to the damned thing. Our daughter will occasionally lock the door at night but she is also still slightly afraid of the dark. She is also scared of spiders and may still find it hard to sleep after watching a scary movie. I don't know why anyone would live anywhere that required locking one's self in at night. I would move if I thought it was needed. If folks or wild animals or whatever it is you're locking out are commonly getting in unlocked doors why in the frick would you stay?

Wipe down the kitchen counters, pick up stuff, put away the bourbon, turn off the lights, make sure the dogs are sleeping with my boys. I don't lock the doors. We live in the woods and I welcome the challenge.

When I leave it up to my wife, all of the lights are still on and the front door is wide open.

Check that the doors are locked , take my crestor and check the safety on my equalizer, turn off the lamp, tell the wife , no pics, good night.

I’m in BR with no alarm and nice house. I do lock the doors though. There are enough old retirees watching the streets that I feel pretty safe.
