Kind of off topic but many of my friends in BR do not have an alarm and that’s insane to me. I’ve had one ever since I bought my first house. When we occasionally stay in Airbnb’s without one, the lack of it puts me a little on edge.

May I ask as to why?

When I lived in Lafayette I didn't have alarms, I didn't really need them in the area my house is in. I mean I always had a gun locked and loaded by my bed just in case ,and my dogs were alarm enough. My mom is currently living in my house now and she put up a ring camera ,but it isn't really needed where the home is.

It’s usually in a neighborhood I’m not familiar with and the whole fam is with me. I feel a bit exposed. I’ve stayed in them with friends and not thought much of it. But I imagine advertising you have an alarm on Airbnb may not be the best marketing ploy.

Does my wife do it?

I do all that while my wife relaxes in a hot tub of water. Then she gets out, lays in bed, and reads a book. I imagine she either doesn’t think about it or just assumes a magic fairy comes to ensure everything is safe and ready for bed.

After taking dogs out I go back out into the yard, check tripwires and pull pins on claymores.
