Equality is everyone having the option. Equity is nobody having the option.
What Cali is doing is the latter.

Clear doesn’t pay CA corporate taxes? Laughable.

TSA is federal. Not sure California has the right to regulate a federal agency operating under the jurisdiction of another Federal agency. I may be wrong ,but yeah I think they are out of their element here.

I find that Clear is more often faster. For me personally if I only had one it would be Clear. It's getting to where so many people have it though.

Dude lives in a gated community which I’m pretty sure he pays extra for
He gonna remove all gates so that the poor can feel good?

Just another reason not to 1) go to CA; 2) avoid flying, especially commercial.
When consumers realize THEY hold all the cards and refuse to accept the terms imposed by both government and private corporations and refuse to fly the industry will react. Of course the low class tax recipients will still be swinging both in the airport and on the planes since it is not their $ they are spending to fly.

Dumb... Clear just funnels their people into the TSA Pre-check line. Not the regular line. Anyone can get the TSA Pre-check done if you're willing to take the time to do it.... Well, most anyone.
And, oddly, its not wealthy travelers that I see using Clear.
This. Clear (and precheck which is the same idea) funnel travelers through a different line. Which means the main security line is shorter and faster when Clear is open.
This is the cliffs note version of many liberal legislations. "WE WONT TAKE SH** FROM THOSE RICH FOLKS" and then uninentended consequences kick in...

honestly it’s fairly ridiculous that you can pay a fee and all of a sudden be less of a security risk. Hard to argue that it makes the skies any safer
I wonder about that one a lot. I have TSA precheck free with one of my credit cards, and we had one meeting with someone 7 years ago for 10 minutes, then just apply for renewal every 4-5 years. I think it costs like $100 for 5 years. Not like it's expensive.

The goal of equity is communism. If you follow equity to it's logical conclusion, someone can't have Ruth's Chris if others can't afford it. Everyone must eat the same government porridge.

Someone should let this guy know that services like precheck and Clear make the wait shorter for the other people who do not have those services because it gets many people through security very quickly instead of having them lengthen the regular line. But of course there was never a problem a progressive could not create nor an issue they cannot make worse.
How about he next take aim at Disney and all the California amusement parks and their fast passes? That one directly affects all the poor chirren just wanting to get on the rides and the wealthy kids (PROBABLY WHITEY!) just jump ahead of them.

Right policy, wrong reason.
The 9/11 hijackers went to flight school. So why would the TSA assume nefarious actors wouldn't buy into a frequent flyer program?

They should come up with a clear for the DMV.
Look, some people’s time is worth more than others. Next up, private jets will have to allow the poors to tag along.

There are always going to be "socioeconomic disparities." Does a doctor who went to school for years have to live in the projects? The NFL and NBA are full of black athletes who have a "socioeconomic disparity" from 95% of the posters on this board.
We need society to rise up and smartass this "even steven" bullshite out of society.
All Californians who work should demand full welfare benefits. After all, why should anyone have to work for their money? This certain is a form of disparity.

The poors shouldn’t be at the airport anyhow.

Yeah i dropped Clear bc it's never been worth it. It's only advantageous in a handful of airports and I fly red eyes about 40% of the time on top of that (so often not even open during those hours).
