Bangkok is a lot better than NYC.

I'd guess Amsterdam is better.

NYC is terrible. I absolutely loathe driving through it every time we travel up to Massachusetts. It’s basically just 300 square miles of concrete and minorities

$1300? Where was that? I was paying more than that for a 1 BR in midtown Houston
I'm paying $2825 for a 1 bedroom
$1300 is around the going rate for 1BR's in downtown Baton Rouge. That would be a steal in Manhatten.

If I didn't have a very specific job here in LA, along with an exwife that won't let me take my kids, I'd move there.

New Orleans>>>>>>>>>>New York
NOLA has, by an order of magnitude, more soul, spirit, and substance that NYC.
That is what truly makes a city great, whether it advances from the bare definition of concrete, lots of people, museums, etc to the higher, more sublime definition of being a story, a fable, a unique but very real storyworld to visit.

As for the OP, NYC is right up there along with Paris, London and Tokyo.
I'd put L.A. with those cities too

I mean it’s pretty awesome. The history, the different neighborhoods and cultures, the sensory overload , food, etc. Just a different way of life. Think I could live there for a few years but not permanently.
