re: RFA Delvin Breaux Options

Not worth it. Let him walk. Get Better CBs in the draft.

We can do both. No reason not to offer him the lowest tender and at least have the option to match. That little money won't hurt us

The more depth we have at corner, the better. That's a cheap option with little risk for a potential starting caliber player

Well besides that whole property tax thing, but you guys get to see where your tax dollars get reinvested. It sucks,
I wish we were more like that.

Seriously, how do you get that from that clip?

He forced pressure of the edge and made keenum step into the pocket. No interior pressure
It snows by the observatory on the big island a good bit actually.
I mean your chart really doesn't look too good either

Again, as I said, of course your chart will show a warming trend if you start your chart at the end of a fricking ice age.

Start it from the Warming Period if you'd like

Unlike the chart you posted?

This is getting beyond embarrassing, into the downright 'stupid' level of mentality. Cord cutters ae not affecting the ratings of broadcast TV. Broadcast TV is free, as it always was, before and after cable came into existence

The first thing they tell you to do when you cut the cord, is to buy an HD antenna. So that you can watch the free stuff. Like every NFL game (except Monday Night football)

And how has Nielsen adjusted for this? It has actually been a challenge for them. Over the air has always been under counted by Nielsen, which is something they are currently planning to address by adding more OTA households

Also, all the games this weekend were available via stream

It is hilarious to me that you're calling others stupid here

Furthermore, last year's packers-cowboys game was the most watched divisional game in NFL history

Nielsen adding 15,000 OTA

First, that was 17 years ago. you can get an A/C unit for under $200

Second, when he said NY I assumed he was talking about the city. The entire state def doesn't shut down. I'm sure they have cities here and there with less resources though.

It was hot and humid as hell here this summer. Hell, I ran A/C into November

Houston doesnt have pump stations idiot

No shite? Apparently they don't have great drainage either from it repeatedly flooding when I lived there.

Kind of the point

Maybe they should have better pump stations and drainage.

The point

like New Orleans and Houston?

Same reason NY closed down for few days during 92 degree heat wave. Can't handle it.

Yea, that doesn't happen. 90s are pretty regular in NY in the summer actually

re: Why does snow close the South?

New York city had tons of closures just a few weeks ago from a snow storm, and they are pretty damn prepared to handle it.

Was nice working from home though. The issue isn't really the snow, the issue is when it goes from above freezing to below and everything ices over.

Not worth the risk

new york also has salt on every road, plows on every garbage truck, etc. Hell, even the subways weren't fully running though

But it was a football play. Not a character test

The character test came after, and he far exceeded any expectations one could have for a rookie

Yeah, It's gonna be cold... The Meadowlands (NYG) was cold as well and the SB went off without a hitch.

Wasn't really that cold and they had pretty big transportation issues after the game

They missed a disaster by less than 24 hours

Edit: 6 hours. Gameday had temps in the 40s
It is in the Saints best interest to make sure his contract doesn't terminate and accelerate the $18 million cap hit.

I'm honestly surprised with how open he's been about wanting to extend instead of just not commenting on it. I have a feeling they know each other's number at this point and they aren't too far off

He honestly has a ton of leverage. This negotiation feels different without having a franchise tag in the pocket

Then he is a fool. The saints are prepared to reach a settlement and not try to claw all of it back. It’s in his best interest to get a favorable settlement and stop blowing all of his money.

He's actually the one in a position of strength here.

It is in the Saints best interest to reach an injury settlement, but the NFLPA is going to fight to let him keep the entire signing bonus

And just like me, you have no idea what his spending habits are

Then why hasn't he come out and said anything? Not saying that's not true, but he hasn't said a damn thing.

Because there is likely a legal battle coming

quote:

"It's a challenging thing because he came out of the draft and there were some re-checks and it cleared at that time from everyone, but I've got to trust in the medical experts and I do, and I know Mickey does. It's just a difficult, unfortunate condition, and yet, fortunately we found it."

quote:

"I'd rather not answer that because I don't know yet," Loomis said of the contract situation. "I don't know how that's going to resolve itself. (There are) some difficult questions there. So, it's unfortunate for his case, and we're a lot more concerned about Nick himself than we are about that, although that is a concern."

What else is there to read into?

Why would we cut him? We're going to go after an injury settlement I'm sure

and I don't think he wants to play again.

He absolutely wants to play again. He was upset with the decision and there will be a fight over the money owed now

quote:

I think the heart condition is legit but I'm highly suspect that he now can't play with it after doing so for all these years - this is not something new. Only thing new is he got a nice new fat bonus that he gets regardless.

The Saints probably know this but also know they can't really say anything or they look like dicks - especially after the fiasco of our team docs, etc.

What are you talking about?

The Saints are the ones who aren't allowing him to play due to the condition. We're the ones who won't clear him to play

We sent him to a specialist after his heart condition re-appeared during his physical

He won't be playing again:

quote:

The Saints have not revealed the details of Fairley's condition, but he was flagged for an enlarged heart at the 2011 Combine. As for Fairley returning, Payton said he would never "use that word never," but he added there is no way for Fairley's condition to improve. Fairley just signed a four-year, $28-million contract in March. Thu, Jul 27, 2017 08:56:00 AM

Are you retarded? He's a good, young player who wouldn't clear waivers.

What would cutting him solve other than making the Saints worse?
