I would agree with this except that it can cause the break up of family land, particularly in the West. I hate seeing big ranches carved up due to estate issues.

Contrary to what so many good people – out of sheer terror of ‘Communism’ – think, Capitalism is not ‘free enterprise,’ an incentive for success, ‘a chance for all.’ Capitalism is trusts, speculation, parasitical usury. Capitalism is J. P. Morgan, Rothschild’s bank, ripping apart the nations like maddened swine. Capitalism is the frying pan in which culture is rendered down to the grease of money. Following it, as the night to day, is the thrice hotter fire of ‘Communism

I agree with this, generally.

"capitalism" is literally freedom

which means that the outcomes discussed here aren't shocking, b/c freedom breeds inequality

People are terrified of freedom. I get a kick out of people talking about it when I know damn well they want to legislate the hell out of it.

I agree that we are a nation with freedom of opportunity, but not freedom of result.

BUT, those who are at the top do not do so without the help of the government, which means that they were helped by all. So, at some point, their annual income and wealth become obscenely large, and a correction is needed. Fact.

This. Sorry, not everyone in life is a winner. You have to have some losers in society. In this world if you work harder, you should get more. Leeches need to survive for themselves.

If we had more responsible people in society, I could be way more of a libertarian. But, people litter, people drive cars that smoke, etc.

Do you know how to fix this? Without redistributing?

Somebody took a data set and decided it would look good with their political agenda. That should be the title of this “news”.

It's about 37% comes out for Fed and State taxes for me.

ETA: Hell I just looked at it, I pay more in taxes in one year than I used to make in a year. It's definitely over 37%. Closer to 41%

Slap a 10% sales tax on top of that whenever you spend the money and there's your 50%.

Back on topic, a 90% tax or anything close to that obscenity will literally never pass. Do you honestly think rich politicians would vote themselves out of the upper class? And even if it did pass the elite would revolt and rally the lower classes a la the American Revolution.

You see, the American Dream/goal of capitalism has NEVER been to make everyone wealthy/financially equal. It has been to PROVIDE the OPPORTUNITY for everyone to be wealthy. Throughout the vast majority of history there was almost no chance of ever moving up in class, regardless of what you did, and now, upon finally achieving that dream (with the added benefit of providing incredible abundance for all, including those contributing the least) people want to sulk and whine because others who put it all on the line are getting rewarded commensurately more? It's laughable.

You know... no one is stopping you from paying more in taxes. Instead of telling us what we should do, why don’t you lead by example?

Instead of having your cpa do his job to lower your taxes, why don’t you just pay extra?

Seems Uber hypocritical of you to tell us we should pay more taxes, yet use a CPA to ensure you pay as little as legally possible

Put your money where your mouth is baby

Yea it's a hybrid form of communism. Has a capitalist market with a lot of state influence. They still have a ton of censorship in media and propaganda and control elections.

Just for instance, Todd Graves, CEO and Founder of Canes, is compensated around $1m a year (after some research this is about what he was compensated a few years back). By your way of thinking, he should not look to expand his company any more because he's basically capped before paying 90% taxes. Why would he or anyone else look to expand if they don't get any monetary value?

The reason it has not worked is because it has never been tried with good old fashioned American style inguinity. Poor execution!

American style ingenuity and innovation is driven by the profit motive created by capitalism. Communism hinders development because it takes away incentive. Why work hard to create something when you can do nothing and achieve the same standard of living?

the underlying agenda behind a lot of the “equal opportunity” nonsense. Progs/Libs know that equal opportunity already exists, they want equal outcome.
