I'm sure Jeff Landry has a plan to fix all this. Look at what he's done with insurance.

in the last 5 years the insurance industry has gotten:
2 year prescription
completely whacked collateral source rule
100k penalty for NPNP
Modified comparative fault
The Housley Presumption is dead
Illegal Aliens don’t get general damages or wages past or future.

And our rates will continue to go up, and none of that will make our flood and home owners more affordable.

Hyundai Steel Plant in Donaldsonville

This one is a pretty big deal.

Do you have any photos of the ongoing construction? I'd be interested in seeing such a state of the art facility in the making.

No surprise. But thanks for the info we suck. Didn’t know that after about 60 years living here.

That’s sarcasm BTW

Like Jindal spending tens of millions to woo IBM only for them to renege on all their promises?

Exactly what popped in my mind.

I just went to look up that whole deal. They promised to bring 800 jobs within the first few years and that didn’t happen so state officials extended the deal 2 more years. IBM supposedly met the number & state officials say they did too, but IBM hasn’t released any reports since 2020.

Louisiana’s jobs market finally recovered from the hemorrhaging that occurred during the coronavirus pandemic five years ago.

-JBE covid and 8yrs of general resistance to business growth
-Biden freezing offshore oil leases
-homeowner insurance rates after Laura and Ida

There is no magic wand for an immediate recovery for business in Louisiana by any politician accept maybe a Trump. This is why I have disdain for Kennedy and Scalise for not stepping up to run for Governor against Edwards. They were the only ones who would have had the political gravitas to take out an incumbent governor.

And what has our congressional delegation brought back to Louisiana to help its growth besides maybe a heavy medical industry which became a DEI playground for any new jobs.

I'm not complaining. I'm asking what he's done to foster jobs or a business friendly environment to produce jobs in the near term. You can't provide anything apparently.

Projects have to be announced, I’m sorry people can’t snap their fingers and produce 500 jobs. Even getting the investments is more than we’ve had since Covid.

Well at some point those projects need to come to fruition. I'm grateful for all the promises of future jobs, but when do they break ground on these? Seems I've heard about them for years, but they never coem to pass.

Some of you just want to complain and overreact to data heavily weighted by tariffs. Let’s see this list at the end of the year.

OK, I'll wait. I've been waiting for years for the economic prosperity promised by whatever governor was in office. I have yet to be rewarded.

Landry deserves a lot of shite but one thing he’s done an excellent job of is bringing industrial business to LA.

Hyundai is going to be a big deal….in 5 years.

We need some smaller wins. Maybe it’s time to revamp the tax code.

So what if we have the worst GDP in the southeast? Jeff Landry is giving us tax cuts!

...tax cuts on luxury boat purchases worth more than $200k.

Some facts.

JBE hurt businesses
10.45% sales tax in EBR is criminal
The movie industry subsidies failed to build a strong independent industry that grew roots.
The property tax system where you exempt industries that bring in a small amount of jobs does not work.
No Governor wants to reign in the trial lawyers.
Mississippi schools are putting La. Schools to shame.

This is an inevitable result of 8 years of JBE Dem leadership.

The fact that people are downvoting this shows why we will continue to be last. We closed business in the state “out of an abundance of caution” while the rest of the region was opening back up. “He was one of us,” though.

Landry probably isn’t the guy to pull us out of the mess.

You’re right. Best thing that can happen is get this big industrial projects and hope to god we have someone step up to be a real leader

My company has taken a hit since the tariffs hit. With the new tariffs on Japan and South Korea it will be worse. Our sales consist of 30% exports.

It's best just to leave, I quit "waiting" in my early 30's and moved to a more prosperous place.

The United States should be embarrassed to consider Louisiana among the 50. Force it to be absorbed by Texas

All you have to do is look at Louisiana’s economic performance during JBE’s term compared to the rest of the south. Louisiana was an outlier in every way. And it only accelerated during the Covid hoax.

Texas and FL are not right there with NC and GA.

They’re much larger.
