Air is an excellent thermal insulator. Hence its use in double pane windows and Styrofoam coolers. Those Styrofoam style cap covers function well due to fact that air makes up the majority of Styrofoam's volume and you essentially create a large air pocket around the valve.

Just purchased 2 acre lot with CSE Federal Credit Union. Required 15% down with 3.2% fixed rate for 20 years. JD Bank also offered similar setup but with 3.5%, however had fixed rate for 3 years then balloon or refinance.
If you look around, you will find some good deals.

Our contractor will test and compact each 3-5” lift. I definitely wouldn’t touch a contractor only testing last lift.

I am looking to build on a cleared, previously undeveloped lot in Lake Charles.
I am in flood zone AE, so I am needing to build up approximately 5 feet. Given the pad area (Appx 5500 sqft), raised elevation, adding 10% for slope and 20% for compaction, I am receiving prices averaging around [b]$21...

Thanks for the replies! U Cart Concrete seems to be a good option. I also considered just leveling pavers. This shed will only be holding a couple bikes, pushmower, garden stuff....

Anyone know the market price for poured concrete? Looking to get a small 7x5 slab for a garden shed.I'm assuming 3" thick.
Any recommendations on small crew or contractors would be appreciated!
