I participated in a march on Sunday against the vaccine mandate. We started at 11:00 a.m. and ended around 1:00 p.m. We marched through the French Quarter and ended at the step at Jackson Square.
The Quarter was a ghost town. I never seen it that empty before.
I know its August. I know this is usually the slowest month.
But as we walked through and passed restaurants- wait staff came outside to watch us. They had no tables to wait on. This was prime time for Brunch and Lunch. Hell, the Rib Room only had people sitting at 5 tables- at NOON.
There were no one in the shops. There were no people in the art galleries.
There were more people eating at tables outside of restaurants than inside- and it was very hot.

I moved from Zachary to New Orleans 8 years ago and I still don't know why I did this. It's to the point I only leave Lakeview when I need to change my truck windshield because someone broke into it.

There's no way anyone gets to her position being literally that ignorant.
Everything about her mannerisms and tone are deliberately crafted to appeal to black ghetto NOLA women so they say to themselves, "Look, she is ONE OF US! She is a QUEEN like us YAAAS QUEEN SLAAAY" and whatever other low class garbage they speak.
You can't tell them look, she isn't one of you, she is a bougie lady from Cali and she doesn't think you are fit to clean her expensive shoes. All they see is "black woman who speaks ebonics".

There were plenty of people in the Quarter in the early evening Sunday, when it had cooled down a bit. A bit too many for my liking, actually. Galatoire's had a normal crowd Sunday evening at 7pm.

Did you happen to work at an after hours clinic while there?

LOL
Yes she’s a ghetto dumbass and I hate her.
Sadly all over the country similar people in various politard offices keep getting elected.
Have you seen/heard the mayors of Baton Rouge, Shreveport, and Jackson, MS?

Heat index was like 100+ Saturday afternoon. Think that’s more to blame than mandates of any kind.
LOL at the march though. Didn’t that mayor candidate and Frank Scurlock sponsor it?

Oh yeah. I'm thinking this poster is Nguyen or Frank's psycho wife.
Was hoping to bait them more.

I was going to sit this thread out but I was actually one of the 5 people at Rib Room, no joke. The march went right by our table. Yes it was only 5 people in there, I've never seen anything like it.
That said we went to Doris Friday night, right around the corner, and it was filled to capacity. We also went to a few stores after lunch Sunday and they were doing fine.

I still haven't watched it, as well as MLB and NBA. Also haven't bought a coke product or subway sammich either. Some people do stick to their guns on things. I avoid NOLA whenever possible and that will never change.

How’s that working out for you?
Just an FYI, those machines are spinning just fine without you.

I will be making dinner reservations at multiple restaurants requiring vaccine passports for 8pm for 6pax and then canceling 5min before as I can’t find my proof of vaccination
And what exactly does this accomplish?

I’m sure it has been discussed but is there really any way this could be spun as a positive for NO restaurants and bars. I can’t imagine this would bring anyone new to NO to come eat/drink but we definitely mean less people come.
Is there a thought that more people would come to NO to visit bc of the mandate? I just can’t see how that would be the case either. If it did, I’m sure the rising crime would quickly cancel that out.

Working great for me. The NFL has turned into the NBA anyway, with personalities more important than sports.
Kicking the TV habit is awesome.

It pisses off businesses enough to potentially file a lawsuit against the city.

Went to see music at The King Pin on Saturday, had an early dinner at Costera and on Sunday went to Finns to watch soccer. They were all packed.
