Its August. This is by far the slowest time of year for Restaurants in NOLA. Many close for much of the month in regular times.

If it’s so slow, then they really don’t need a mandate.

I'm still waiting on Lee "Edward R. Murrow Award" Zurik to look into this crooked mayor.

He did the investigation a few years back that uncovered the fact that her and her husband owed like 95k to the IRS in back taxes or whatever and he sat down with her and asked her questions about it.

It's like the most ignorant, unintelligent person at your office that bitches about everybody and everything about the job and hates it there is promoted to manager.

And then after hiring incompetent friends and cronies drives the profit margin down and makes the workplace intolerable a
has her contract re-upped and is given a raise.

I mean - anyone that saw that "Phase 2" press conference, I can't see how anyone comes away from that thinking anything but WTF??

Hell, she's crooked too but is honestly to ignorant to realize that she is or why.

have told me a very very high numbers of restaurant/bar owners have reached out to the gov office but they have basically said they won’t interfere.

Of course not. JBE is gunning for a cabinet post or running for senate. He’s not going to do anything that will have Teedy claiming racism. Because that’s what she’ll do.

Only people that will fix this is the residents and business owners. They can either stop complying, start speaking out, and find a candidate running against her that will stand up for them. Otherwise, the city will be a lost cause

Nah, I’m an experience-guy. You can’t get that in Jefferson parish. Though I do love Moscas

Name these places. I don’t go out that way too often but I’d like to check them out.

Where the hell is the La. Restaurant Association in all of this? Years ago LRA used lobbyists and lawyers to effectively take all the monetary teeth away from LDH (DHH at the time) from being able to fine for sanitation violations. Only state in the entire US where its Dept. of Health sanitarians are paper tigers with no teeth. LRA greased politicians and judges. But there's nothing LRA can do now on behalf of its Orleans Parish restaurants? Something doesn't add up.

I don't get your reference, but anyway, it seemed like you were taking a shot at Lee Zurik who is the only one who had the balls to confront the mayor and really put the story out there.

Anything you can think of separate from the food

Service
Decor
History
View
Menu curation
Noise level
Patrons

Etc etc

Not that I can’t enjoy decent food behind a sterile back drop. Just not taking out of towners there or active seek that myself

I’m not hating on the fine people in New Orleans.

I’m just not going to spend my money down there at a place where I am not welcome.

The Destroya can kiss my skinny white booty before I spend another cent in her town.

As a whole Jefferson has better Italian, Mexican, Vietnamese and pretty much any other south or Central American cuisine than Nola does. Nola blows the doors off of Jefferson in fine dining, modern and celebrity chefs, but to say Jefferson is a dining black hole is disingenuous and flat out wrong
Westbank JP also has some good Middle Eastern food. Ironically, there's a growing Palestinian community on the wank and they've opened up some good restaurants. Sahara Cafe, Sultan's Shawarma Shack, and Cleopatra are all really good.

They have been busy the entire time. I noticed other restaurants closed or limited their days and hours open in that uptown carrollton/oak st area, they just kept chugging along.

You may be right on BBQ but your wrong on all other accounts. You should have repped royal Thai as being the best Thai food in Jefferson Parish and I would have been on board but you fricked up just like you did with thinking Brandon Cooks is good.

I'd say most tourists are vaccinated. The biggest group of New Orleans patrons that isn't vaccinated are the black locals.

Thus black owned restaurants in black neighborhoods, which are far more frequented by black customers, are going to be hit the hardest by this.

Willing to bet Destroya's minions will conveniently not be checking in on those establishments
