WTF is a D.O.? I work in healthcare and still can't tell you the difference between that and an MD, but I know there is one.

Low scores, hopefully residency eats her alive and spits her out
Attrition is really, really low in residency. She'd have to work hard to fail and get the boot.
To see the way her posts reveal her mindset, it's certainly a possibility.

She’ll be at a government clinic or hospital for decades. Probably keep a few malpractice lawyers busy.

The people who couldn’t get into traditional medical schools sometimes go into this Osteopathic medicine track. The GPAs and MCAT scores of these students are a decent amount lower than their Allopathic medicine counterparts.
Sooooo….A chiropractor?

Did you know that being a POC doesn’t mean you don’t deserve the same outcomes as a white person?
Do white people get in with those scores?

Osteopathic medicine started as a completely different thing started by a guy named AT still.
He thought his way was better. Mainstream medicine thought he was a quack.
Now osteopathic doctors learn both types and have toned down their rhetoric about not approving of conventional medicine.
It’s way way easier to get into DO schools. Historically residencies have looked down on DO applicants (though that is slowly changing).
DO students are typically at a disadvantage because their med schools don’t usually have very many residences affiliated (particularly lacking the rarer specialities). So they don’t have a “home program” for their school when applying to residency.
And most DOs I know don’t really care about the manipulation medicine. They just used it as a pathway to practicing conventional medicine.

I know plenty of people of color that are good at standardized tests. She needs a reality check.

This person reminded me and that changes everything.
This person may be entirely full of shite.
You find out IF you matched on monday and WHERE you matched on Friday.
Either shes lying/a fake account or she may have broken some series rules

I went to grad school at a place that offered a DO program and knew lots of the students. They all busted their arse like a regular MD program but I used to give them shite about the sorting hat and which wand they chose prior to their magics in the osteopathic portion of the program.

med students got email this morning telling them if they matched. Friday morning they will find out where they matched before match day ceremony Friday afternoon. great to know you match but stressful not knowing where you matched whether it was 1st choice or one lower on list. Son informed me he had a job this morning lol now fingers crossed for him getting first choice which is very possible based on his step two score and vibes he is getting from prefered hospital.
