It's a setting in the car. I have mine automatically engage when the car turns off.

I did the air filter, cabin air filter, all 6 spark plugs, brakes, and rotors along with a tire rotation on my aunts car.
I didn't do the oil change since it wasn't time (4k). Literally 2 weeks later she brought it to claim her free oil change since she got 2 years for free and the a-hole tells her she needed all of those things done since she was at 30k miles.
I went to the dealership and told them off myself. Baited the mother fricker before I did. Had him explain to me each and individual thing why it needed fixing/changing, acting like I didn't know a damn thing. Hook, line, and sinker. Made the fricker sweat. Manager realized the frickery
Manager then apologized and offered me another 2 years of free oil changes, which I told him give me the oil and filters and I'll do it myself.

We got ours 09/17, ordered it before they were any made. She drives a 20 mile commute, but we use it as a family road trip vehicle with a travel sport kid. 32k.

My GF argues with me over this type of stuff. I’ll tell her that her car doesn’t need all that and if it does I can go get the parts for half the cost using my farm discount at the parts house and do it myself to save her money.

Kinda related... My wife has tried to surprise me a couple of times by mowing the grass before I get home. In the past year she’s poured gas into the oil and oil in the gas.

Just be glad it's not a Maserati Ghibli. That's $3,500 brake pad change.

Mine was over $2k. Thankfully, the OEM pads lasted 80k miles.

You need to have a friend show you how to change brakes. It's not hard at all. 5 lugnuts, 2 bolts (buy a socket wrench breaker bar), disc brake quiet, a C clamp and some brake dust spray. I just changed my fronts last weekend for under $30.
