Boomers never let go of power.
Power is something seized, not ceded. Boomers started many of the businesses now in power. Those didn't exist prior to the 1980s and 90s. They are today's job creators. Discounting that is foolish. Your assumption is that those jobs were always there. They weren't. As such, yours is the sort of argument which is easy to logically dismantle.

"the government" is not some magical wizard

It's people.

Yes, people voted in. I've never voted for someone who outwardly said they wanted to expand goverment, take more control over peoples lives, and increase taxes.
But a lot of people do, because that is who is elected time and time again. And if you pay any attention to social media, it's the younger adults that seem to want more of that control in governments hands.

Adjusting for inflation, the median home price in 1965 America was $202K, today it's $418K. The Average rent, also adjusted for inflation, was between $750-$800 a month, today it's over $1,900 a month. Continuing with inflation adjusted figures, the minimum wage in 1965 was $12.30, today it's $7.25.

The cost of living has increased and average salaries for working class jobs has decreased. Which has made it harder for younger people to live comfortably. This can tend to cause frustration

Anyone that votes Democrat votes for more government control and oversight.

That fact isn't debatable.

Misleading post, but there are several floating signifiers in it.

Your cost of living perception is understandable following the Bidenflation shock. Certainly COL is up compared to the pre-Biden period. Generally though, COL is still down by past comparisons.

Housing affordability (pricepoint + financing) has been covered on this board ad nauseam. Suffice it to say housing was much more affordable from 2010-2020, in real terms, than it was in the past.

Folks who electively chose to put off purchases in that timeframe are now faced with a less affordable market. It is what it is. The current situation, tough as it is, is not as bad as the early 1980's when loan rates shot to 15-16%.

For example, Millennials grew up with social media (SM). What role did/does that play in intergenerational differences? If you grow up with something, you often simply accept it and go with the flow. As someone with experience in the pre-SM world, it is fairly obvious the impact it had on Millennial stereotypes

Do you even know who millennials are - maybe learn before you run your mouth

Only late millennials grew up with social media
Early millennials didn’t even have cell phones until
Mid HS or college and the internet just became functional when they were in junior high and HS

FB wasn’t even a national thing until the latest millennial was around 12-14 years old

Wow! Feel better after spewing that stupidity?
There was this thing called AOL. Instead of getting on the phone and asking a girl out, kids used AOL to 'hook up.' It was "a national thing" well before the latest millennial was 12.

GenY transition to MySpace then FB was natural and pervasive. Inevitably it took on a "Look at Me" "Look at what I'm doing" characteristic driving GenY's stereotypic preference for experiences.

That millennials are widely characterized as coming-of-age during the rapid rise of the digital era is a simple matter of fact.

And let's ne completely honest, although it will hurt some feelings:

If you replaced the word "boomer" with "Democrat" in every boomer-critical post, the post would then likely be accurate.

Democrats inherently want more government programs, oversight, free tuition, free Healthcare, etc. It is part of their historical platform; see FDR and LBJ, Biden, etc.

A lot of boomers are Democrats, no doubt.

But a lot more of us aren't, hence electing Bush when we knew he was going to attempt to abolish SSI.

Let's see who the next 2 generations elect.

So far, it looks like a lot of thrm are fine with big government.

You have no clue wtf you are talking about
AOL isn’t social media - it was literally a text before text messaging existed

More boomers use FB today than millennials
So who is the “look at me” generation

ARM's accounted for about 70% of originations and teaser rates were allowed by the Fed. Most of the remaining 30% were assumable.
