Thoughtful commentary.
I did find it interesting that a Boomer President, elected by Boomers, with the promise that he would attempt to end SSI, couldn't get it passed.
I didn't realize he worked so hard and used up a lot of political capital to try and get it done, so I learned something in researching this topic.

His family was a bit disfunctional and moved back south shortly after they arrived and he ended up staying in Detroit and supporting himself at the age of 13 and 14 before saving enough money to move back south. He married my mom when they were 18 and 19, worked low paying jobs while mom stayed home, eventually became a policeman working extra jobs my entire childhood to support us, saved as much as he could by almost exclusively investing in CD’s, and my parents are comfortable financially in their 80’s still holding onto conservative CD investments without the advantage of market growth.
All that sounds great, and good for them, but none of that would be possible now. And that is where the criticism comes from. They are holding younger generations to the same standards they grew up in when those standards have not existed in 40 years.

My daughter (no pics) is mid 20s, she’s an occupational therapist and husband does HVAC, they bought a house in Houston and have a baby and seem to be doing well. Most of their friends are all married and doing very well, most also own their own home. If anything they are doing better than my Gen X friends and I did. Living in a safe neighborhood wasn’t a requirement to us like it is now, if we wanted to move out and buy a home, we did it in a shitty neighborhood at first.
I don’t understand why younger folks need some acknowledgment or pity from boomers. Do y’all pity boomers being the last generation drafted and forced into Vietnam?

If you love daddy government, keep voting Democrat, just like you've been doing.

Wtf are you talking about
I’ve already proven the election trends you think are occurring between generation demographics are not accurate

How has this stupid thread, which is one of the stupidest threads I’ve ever read on tigerdroppings (and I’ve read a ton of stupid threads on here), still going strong after 3 days?
