College football only comes on Saturday for the most part.

How is that messing up college for him?

My younger son concentrated on the social aspects of college life his first year. The Mommy and Daddy scholarship was revoked and his butt was in the local community college the next year.

Tell him you did him a favor and have a job waiting on him with campus sanitation if he does flunk out.

The thought of the embarrassment should motivate him.

Sounds like me, I failed out and joined the army for a few years. Finished school after when I grew up.

After the Mexicans put your masonry company out of business and the Indians get all the computer science jobs memories of college football games will be all he has left of his youth.

When he does flunk out, drive him down to USMC recruiting office. They will take it from there.

If he loves it so much get him to major in physical therapy or sports management. He can be a part of the sport in his own way. If it makes him happy

OP said he’s more into gambling side of things. That addiction is another problem all together

I don't think it's a watching football problem. Sound like he fried his damn brain on gambling. It's hitting young men hard.

Here’s some hard honest advice my parents took with me ( alcohol), I had to literally lose everything. Then went to rehab and on the way my father said “ if you leave or do something to get kicked out…. I don’t know you”. Point…. It was an ultimatum they would die with. They were there to help rebuild but not until I started and did most on my own. I love them for it. At the time I was angry but learned if they just covered for me I’d never fix myself. It’s hard. Parenting is hard but sometimes you have to let them fail, fall flat on their face and when they’re ready to be productive your there for support.

This and the 83 credit cards are the real stories here. Sounds like he needs more than AA like an in house program.

Sounds like he needs to take a semester off and go work at one of the Rigs or as helper at one of the plants. Let him see what the alternative life is if he doesn't go to college. He will either excel and save you the cost of college or he'll appreciate being in college and work harder. Win Win.

I think your son has a gambling problem, not a watching college football problem
