You have my dream. You now are completely free to explore the world and live wherever you want. I am super jealous.
I am close in age to you and in a similar situation lifestyle wise (not career unfortunately.
What I would do is the AirBnB option for a year. I would pick 12 cities in different climates and live in each one for a month.
The ones I would pick:
New Orleans, LA
San Diego, CA
Portland, OR
Denver, CO
Nashville, TN
Chicago, IL
a beach town in Florida
Ashville, NC
Phoenix, AZ
Boston, MA
Washington, DC
New York, NY
I would also purposefully plan them around seasons that are either especially fun or especially challenging. That way you get exposed to living in a lot of different places and climates.
At the end of the 12 months, I would either pick my two favorites and decide to split time between the two cities or create a new list of cities to try and do another round.
Personally, I would imagine my favorites would be:
Chicago, New Orleans, Denver, and San Diego. I would pick the places I can most easily afford and rotate where I live based on the season. I’d spend spring festival season and football season in New Orleans. I’d spend summers in Chicago on the lake front or at Wrigley. Then I’d probably spend at least a month in Denver each year.
I’d just vacation in San Diego occasionally because it would probably be unaffordable.

Because suburbs are worthless if you don’t have school-aged children.
A single person in their 20’s and early 30’s usually wants one of two experiences:
1. Dating opportunities: they don’t really want to stay single long term and want the most opportunities to meet new friends and dating partners. This requires an urban environment with lots of nightlife.
2. Outdoor adventures: they want to hike, boat, hunt, camp, ski, freedom to make noise, etc. and find themselves. This can’t be done in a city, and has to be done in a rural area where they can have freedom to roam and close access to natural wonders like mountains, deserts, canyons, rivers, etc. If someone likes beaches, there’s a few large cities with that, like San Diego, L.A., Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, etc.
Denver and Portland probably offer the best combos of both since they’re both large cities with lots of young singles situated near lush mountain ranges with lots of outdoor activities within an hour’s drive. New Orleans and Chicago offer good boating and fishing opportunities nearby, but not so much for hiking.

Probably not on mine either(lived there for a year already) but it can be a great place if your're in the right neighborhood.

In some ways, it is well earned. The suburban sprawl there is awful. But there are a lot of great, vibrant neighborhoods ITP in Atlanta. Inman Park, Va Highlands, Midtown around Piedmont Park, Chastain Park area, etc.

Miami seems pretty good to me if I could move anywhere. Weather's great and real estate definitely cheaper than here. Just have to worry about being hit by the occasional hurricane.
So many on here will say Wyoming and Montana but hardly any of them live there themselves. That's because those places are boring as frick.

I can’t stand Atlanta, but I don’t really care for any of the big suburban sprawl cities except for Phoenix and San Diego. When I want to visit or live in a city, I want high population density, appealing architecture, walkability, and reliable mass transit. Most sprawl cities don’t offer these because the population density isn’t high enough and post-war architecture is mostly bland and ugly stripmall, ranch, or mcmansion crap.

Man all of y'all in here recommending the RV act like that's the only way to stay mobile or see the country. The dude is 27 not 65, "Want to go back to my place? It's parked at the KOA." is not gonna moisten the panties at the bar. It's 2020, you can just hop AirBnBs. Pick a place, rent an AirBnB and go there. You don't have to drive your house around and invest a massive amount of money in a depreciating asset. The optimal flexibility, own nothing except your vehicle and whatever you deem essential. You want to live in the woods? buy a fricking tent.

I know a guy who did the RV thing for a while in his late 20’s. It was fun, but got old after a year or so. Granted, he had a full time job in Baton Rouge, so its not like he could be on the road 24/7.

Personally, if you're working remotely but want to be in a city, I would lean against NY. Not because it isn't awesome, because it is. But for what you can afford in terms of real estate, and keeping in mind that you have to live and work in that space, I think you're better off in a more affordable city.
I'd also echo what many have said about doing long-term AirBnBs or renting a furnished place. Hop around for a while. If you hate extreme cold or hot weather, live in the mountains in the summer and somewhere in the south in the winter. Don't get a ton of furniture or things - be able to be mobile.

Just as a suggestion - being that young and single, don't move out to the sticks. Most of the good looking ladies are already scooped up and all you're going to find out there are the divorced ones with multiple kids or whores with multiple kids from multiple guys.
I know this from experience. Stick to the burbs and the cities.
