So essentially the HOA is telling you how often you can have a guest at your house? I'd really need to see the bylaws on this one. Either way what the frick is guest parking for if your guest can not use it? I think someone is harassing you and your girlfriend.

s a reminder, guest parking is be restricted to visiting guest exclusively and cannot be utilized by Owners or occupants of the unit.
you can prove you dont live there.

Visiting guest are only permitted to used the guest parking space a maximum of 2 consecutive days weekly
see if this is in the by laws. if not you have a leg to stand on...but they will still tow you, you will have to pay it, then hire a lawyer and sue.... blah blah blah all for 200 bucks. But hey you get to get on Judge Judy.

Technically, you are following the rule as stated. However, neighbors are probably pissed because the spirit of the rule is being violated. There are probably neighbor couples, married and unmarried, who had to buy or lease an extra parking space. They could have tried to get around that by just putting one of their names on the lease and moving their car in and out of the guest space, but that would be against the spirit of the rule. If everyone did that there wouldn’t be guest parking.

You’re there nearly 50% of the time for months on end, taking up a guest parking space when other homeowners pay for two spaces and may need that guest space.

Grow up and buy another space or have your girlfriend come to your place.

I'd suggest letting your girlfriend handle it since she's the homeowner and has the agreement with the HOA. I'd tell her to get a copy of the HOA bylaws and read up on it and see if this HOA administrator is correct. If she is, park somewhere else. If she isn't, highlight the actual rules and ask how that rule is being violated.

so a household with two cars just can't live there? That doesn't make any sense

These HOA people are slimy and power-hungry.

You have to figure out a way to shut her up by utilizing legal loopholes. I don't know how, I'm just saying you have to play dirty on this one.

Atlanta? Shaunta?

Pretty mandatory that you have to turn this by calling her “racist” almost immediately. That’s how these things work these days. Then demand ridiculous accommodations in response to their racist acts. Use the word “reparations” if you get the chance.

So now I basically can't come over without worrying about my car possibly being hauled away. Does this HOA lady have the power to do this? It seems like she herself is the one "reporting" me. I'm not sure how it works with these HOA's and their rules.

Sounds like you're a terrible visitor, so much so that people you arent even visiting manage to notice you.

I'm confused. Your last email says you can't park there "at anytime"

Former HOA president here, this is what I would do

Contact the HOA Board, not just the power hungry b*tch.

Read the bylaws and quote them back to the board and to Shaunta while also providing proof you are not a resident.

Attend the next HOA meeting with your GF and raise hell with the board

is the HOA managed by a 3rd party company? They are perhaps the most corrupt companies on earth second only to tow companies.

It seems like Shaunta is implying you are an occupant of the condo and not a guest.

How does HOA define occupant versus guest?
If you would block her car by parking in driveway and this also means you are there when she is not there you might start to fit their definition of occupant. Not really sure but outside of an occasional guest most guests leave when owner leaves; so parking in driveway wouldn’t always be a problem unless you always need to use her car to go places or her “driveway” is really just a parking spot not leading to a garage. It just seems like by her answer she is labeling you as an occupant.

If you are still considered a guest by HOA covenants and never stay parked continually more than 2 days then gf needs to address this directly with board. If you truly leave and come back a lot that’s not really continuous, but I would still change up how you park by mixing in backing in & changing spots in there are more than one & sometimes parking in her driveway (again if it’s actual driveway to a garage or covered parking where her car is). If you can prove you left You may get them to reimburse you, but leaving for a few hours and then parking exactly as before is going to allow whoever is reporting your car to think it’s been in spot longer than it has.

I’m still trying to figure out how there’s only parking for one car, yet residents can’t park in guest parking.

Do no married people live there? Where is the second car supposed to park?

Have the girlfriend visit your cardboard box instead of you parking your Honda at her place all the time.

Sounds like you’re trying to regularly use guest parking as an extension of your GF’s driveway which is exactly what guest parking is not for.

You’re making your situation everyone else’s problem.

Unless you’d be ok with everyone else using the guest parking regularly and not leaving you a place to park?

where do you propose he park? He's a guest isn't he? Isn't guest parking an extension, an overflow per se.
