Convenient that there just happens to be a mule delivery group already in place in the mountains.
The LeConte Lodge is on top of a mountain in GSMNP and is only accessible by foot or mule/llama train. They get regular deliveries several times a week by llamas, who also pack out the trash from the lodge.

There are hundreds of them at Fort Campbell, Bragg, Lejeune.

So the mules are coming from Camp Lejeune?
Let’s hope the water is from somewhere else.

Federal response has been a joke but Trump is doing nothing but trying to score political points. He cares nothing about the people of Appalachia and he is just using up resources that could be used elsewhere.
I always hated when Presidents/candidates show up to disasters. I hated when he came here in 2016. And if having a celebrity politician show up during a disaster makes you somehow feel better about your circumstances, I don't know what that says about you but I don't think it's good.

According to the Associated Press and The Washington Times, mules have been one resource used to transport supplies to the city home to over 90,000 individuals.
One of the groups assisting is the Mountain Mule Packers, who shared in an update on Facebook Monday, Sept. 30 they have "two fully loaded trucks and 20' stock trailers" along with their "mules and equipment" to make a staging area in nearby Weaverville, N.C.

Two hours on the phone and he's tuckered out. Good thing it wasn't Ukrainians being affected.

I'll say it again: We have a major military base 3 hours from there, but needs presidential approval to use the assets. There is no excuse to have to resort to mules.
Trump seems to be doing more than the current POTUS.

You are entitled to your preferences and opinions, however:
Going to the site of a major disaster to assess damage, gather information, and direct the responding executive branch agencies is part of the "chief executive" component of the presidency.
The precedent that a President needs to go to the disaster site asap dates back to LBJ getting his feet wet in New Orleans after Hurricane Betsy. George W. Bush acknowledged in "Decision Points" that his failure to do the same (by hanging out with Ray Nagin and Kathleen Babineaux Blanco on the tarmac) cost him considerable political capital.
Of course Trump is trying to score political points: he's in the middle of a campaign. He's trying to demonstrate that he can act presidential/be a leader in a time of crisis. The people that are upset by this are upset because their preferred candidate couldn't be bothered to go there in person, and the current President spent the weekend at his beach house.
If Biden Administration (including Harris) and the federal government had any semblance of their shite together, I could understand the reasoning behind your argument-Trump's presence would be superflous and nonjudicious waste of resources. But we're talking about mules when military assets at Fort Campbell and Fort Bragg have not been deployed.

The only meaningful words in your post. Trump is doing something. Do you think that slug would have pulled himself away from the beach if not for the attention Trump has been bringing to the issue.
