Dude you have some trust issues.

You are basically giving up any leverage you have against her. The biggest arrow quiver in the man's bag is the ability to walk away. By moving in you are giving that up.
Sex will go down. Trust me. Guys move in with women they aren't married to thinking they will get sex on the regular every night. Haha. You have to remember all women weaponize and commoditize sex and use it as leverage to get what they want. Remember how i said the biggest chip a man has is to walk away? The biggest leverage chip a woman has is her vagina. Now that she knows you gave up your biggest leverage, she basically has free reign to ration access to sex.
And with common law and feminism, if you try to sever ties and move out, you are still liable and on the hook
You have NOTHING to gain from this. NOTHING.
I laughed the entire time reading this. I'm thinking marriage, in any form, is probably not the best idea for you.

Common law in SC I believe is after 10 years. Not sure. We have 1 year. Doesn't work out?
Buh bye

Lived with a girlfriend in college for several years and got engaged and shortly after it fell apart. Sucked, but we split bills so other than having to split up a handful of things we'd bought together there were no financial ties.
You do see though that if you got married before you moved in, it would've ended in a divorce instead of just a break up.
You saved money on the front end splitting rent and utilities and you saved money at the end not having to pay a high dollar attorney to split everything up.

My gf and I moved from LSU to San Francisco after school, were we supposed to rent two places?
Posted on 2/14/19 at 10:13 am to Datfish
We did it, but we were engaged at the time.
My lease was up and I was staying in the home she owned almost every night. It didn’t make sense for me to spend $1200 a month plus utilities and not even stay at the place. Our parents didn’t talk to us for a few weeks, but with the money we were able to save we paid off both vehicles and her student loan prior to the wedding so we started off in a good financial spot.

What part? The truth and values sounds irrational these I know?
You want to test drive, save money before you tie the knot?
Parents dont like it...
Do what you want...

you need to live with a woman for at least a year or two before you even think about getting married because if you cant live together, then you sure as hell cant make a marriage work.

I wonder what the women think about these comments?

Sign, old folks.
Pics of your heifer daughter?

As others have said, it probably isn't a great idea for people in their early 20's unless they're getting engaged.
Me and the SO are a little older and doing it now. Saving a ton of money instead of renting two places and spending every night together anyway. IMO we're giving a possible future marriage the best chance to succeed by getting to know each other even better. If you have two mature people with mutual respect for each other I really don't see how this is a problem.
As a side note, other than parents, people should just mind their own damn business because they probably have no idea what is going on in someone else's relationship. I'm sure some of these pearls of wisdom are coming directly from divorcees or miserable married folks. Worry about yourself. end rant.

Women start giving milk away for free a lot younger now. The more attractive girls without any religious reservations are likely to have upwards of 50 partners at the end of college.

Don’t get married before 30, don’t have kids before you’re married, and don’t worry about anything else.

My girlfriend and I are in the process of moving into my place. We live a pretty good distance from each other (~20 miles) and it was just a headache for us to bounce back and forth. Her lease came up and we are saving about $2K/month in expenses living together. We get to spend more time together, reduce stress of traveling, and save a lot. Her parents are extremely supportive and are helping with the move.
I know it will have its ups-and-downs. We are both optimistic yet reasonable in working through living in a combined space. I've already seen it make me more considerate because I want to make sure it becomes a space that feels like home for her.

You have NOTHING to gain from this. NOTHING.
You sound like the main guy character's best friend in a rom com.
"Nothing To Gain, starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Aniston. In theaters Memorial Day weekend 2019."
