Thinking about moving in with my girlfriend. The parents on both sides are not too happy about it, but it makes a whole lot of sense financially.

I just don't get why some people still consider it such a terrible thing.

You'll be living in sin, son.

It’s a must

Look at her panties in the dirty clothes/laundry. It tells a lot about a woman

Good way to test if you can tolerate her for the rest of your life.

Why even get married if you’re gonna live together first?

If it’s to save money eventually she’s gonna divorce you for being poor

If the parents are against it because they don’t think y’all will last then I would at least hear them out. If it’s a Jesus thing then it is stupid.

It makes no sense for a couple that is engaged, or soon to be,to pay two rents when they are going to spend most nights together anyway

Ignore the haters. It's better to find out you can;t live together before you sign up for a lifetime financial agreement. We lived together for 5 years before we got around to getting married.

100% move in before marriage

It’s not the 1920s where divorce isn’t an option if you hate each other

Better to find out whether you work or not before tying the knot

If it was my daughter that you would even think of moving in with her, I would kick your arse, bass. Just because you are getting the milk for free, doesn't mean you can take the cow home without buying it first.

Sign, old folks.

I did it. Saved about 1500 a month in rent. Pretty sure Jesus will forgive me.

I know the whole living in sin thing and all but here’s my take. My ex and I dated, she had her place and I had mine. Everything was great that way. It was awesome. We moved in together and that’s when I realized that it would not work. Relationship took a totally different route. Sometimes I wonder if that has to do with divorce rate. Living together uncovers everything lol.

You don’t have a clue what a person is like until you live with them.

I don’t care how much you think you care about a girl or how many years you dated, until you live with her regularly, you have zero idea what she is truly like.

You’ve already lost son. Never move into her frame. Make her move into yours.

Yeah, had my ex and I lived together before we got married, we never would have gotten married. I think it is a good idea to try living together before marriage. I don’t like the idea of people shacking up long term or doing so with no aspirations for marriage, but when you get engaged, it’s a great idea to do that. 99% of marriage has little to do with what it’s like dating someone, and nearly 60% of the marriage experience over a lifetime is routine living together stuff. It can be as simple as sleep schedules, bathroom routines, fridge organization, snacks in the pantry, coaster usage, is the toilet seat up or down, etc. it seems silly, but figuring out if the two of you can adapt to one another’s annoying or disgusting habits is key. If you can’t stand living together, a marriage is doomed.

I really wish I’d known how much we would hate living together when we were dating.
