the 50% divorce rate of the past generation proves that waiting to live together till after marriage is the way to go

It you have some spiritual wisdom and guidance within you, you will not move in together prior to marriage. Maybe that's why you're asking for opinions?

Moving in says "we're already married"

I actually hate attending weddings to people who have shacked up for months if not years...

If marriage isn't special to you, then why would you expect family and friends to think it's a big deal to celebrate the big day?

You are worried about saving a little rent? That's your excuse for living together?

Doesn't sound like a bad idea at all, if you're cool with eternal damnation.

We felt God would bless us if we did it how He wanted and waited until we were married.

We were right and we’re glad we waitited.

I’d never marry a woman I haven’t lived with for at least a year

Why do so many morons think living together is a sin? I'm atheist and I even know that this stupid idea is false. It's the fricking outside of marriage that is a sin. You can do that without living together.

Nah, you move in together and getting it regular makes you overlook a lot of shortcomings. You don't see the things that might drive you crazy until you've been married a while.

We moved in before. Been married almost 14 years. It definitely makes financial sense, and I think it makes the first few months of married life nicer because you’re not dealing with the ‘breaking in’ period.

Also...when you just live together...you still can fairly easily exit the relationship if you wanted to. Your biggest obstacle is figuring out the housing situation.

It's a totally different feeling when you are married and you have that first big argument in the marriage and realize you can't just easily walk away now if things turn south.

Moving in just says we are roommates. Marriage, even just legally, is much more than that because you aren't just tying yourself together contractually through a dwelling, you are doing it in every facet of your life. It makes logical sense to test the waters as roommates before making that kind of a decision.

We lived together close to 2 years before getting married. Lived with my ex too before.

You have to imo. You won't see the full picture if you don't.

Best advice my strict Catholic grandmother told me "you never know a woman until you live with her for six months"

Give it a whirl and see how it goes. Just know the first month is going to be a real learning curve.

"who are acting like they are married"

In texas, after 6 months, you are declared legally married

Well, it's a worldly point of view, one I had at one time in my life chasing the wrong women...

People should do what the want, the board is asked their opinion, I provided mine

I've been married for 20 years...

Pre Christian years, I probably slept with a dozen women

thought I had found the one twice!!!

after becoming a Christian, I met my wife at Church...

we waited until marriage... it builds a lot of trust waiting...

that's my perspective based on experience...

Moving into together, sharing a bed, cooking together, paying the bills together, planning your wedding is more than roommates...

You do realize the other 50% end in death, right?

So take your chances and go all in.

Moving in before or after marriage?

Move in before so you can evaluate the level of craziness that your future bride displays. Moving in after marriage is a little to late. It is what it is at that point.
