We moved in before marriage. Its dumb to pay double rent and I'd never want to marry someone I hadn't lived with.

You are basically giving up any leverage you have against her. The biggest arrow quiver in the man's bag is the ability to walk away. By moving in you are giving that up.
Sex will go down. Trust me. Guys move in with women they aren't married to thinking they will get sex on the regular every night. Haha. You have to remember all women weaponize and commoditize sex and use it as leverage to get what they want. Remember how i said the biggest chip a man has is to walk away? The biggest leverage chip a woman has is her vagina. Now that she knows you gave up your biggest leverage, she basically has free reign to ration access to sex.
And with common law and feminism, if you try to sever ties and move out, you are still liable and on the hook
You have NOTHING to gain from this. NOTHING.

Before. You don't really know a person until you've lived with them.

Not only is it not "terrible", I would strongly recommend it.

It's not. Tell them to mind their business.

I think you should live together for some time before marriage. At least during engagement.
Living together is way different than dating and more marriages would last if people did this more often.

You have got to take a step back and do a self-evaluation

Everybody has an angle.
I never lived with my wife while we were dating, but she came over a lot and we hung out at my place....but she never lived with me. In that time, I noticed she would clean the place up often (it seemed like a good thing at the time). What I failed to realize is she has OCD or OCPD. The kind that can drive someone else crazy. We are still married, but this is a very troublesome part of our lives. Had we lived together first, I would've picked up on it and bailed.

but it makes a whole lot of sense financially.
Do it if it's what you want to do. Don't do it because of money.

I vowed I'd never live with a woman unless we were married. After my fiancee and I spent every other week staying at each other's house for 6 months, it just seemed stupid. We were basically living together, but paying for 2 separate places. We've been living together since August. It's been nice.

She became super controlling. We never fought fir the yr and a half before it then it was like she clicked a switch. It was a cascade of everything. Basically knew I couldn’t spend the rest of my life with it.
