To be honest, as a CPA, your W2 trap is just that - a trap. You're fed this idea that by having a high quality/paying job you're doing your time and service yet you're getting raked over the coals from an income tax perspective. What I'd recommend, as another has said, meet with a CPA to talk about other passive income strategies you could explore to give you an opportunity to offset a significant portion of your tax liability. There are a few low hanging fruit ideas but those are not for everyone.

As to your request of a book - The Lifestyle Investor & The Power of Passive Income.
Have they provided any visuals of the redo? Curious what the finished look will be.
Add HVAC. My cousin started with one truck and himself as a solo technician. 18 years later he’s pushing $20+m in revenue with 20-25 techs and 3 FT employees. He was somewhat shunned by the immediate family and considered a “loser” for not going traditional higher education. His income is probably equal or greater than the sum of the immediate family (13 cousins, of which a handful are duds because they majored in some dumbass degree about gender studies in domestic monkeys).

I own a CPA firm and my kids will have zero pressure from me to take over because my diverse client book has shown me anyone can make $100k+ with a specialized degree or skill set worth a damn.
At least Ms Yoo is good at golf

re: Bullet Proof Vehicles

My dad had a 7 series that was bulletproof. The BMW dealer in Texas had it built for a Mexican official but he never picked it up. My dad’s company gave him a check an he went and picked it up. Car was a tank. Unsure if the engine was tuned or upgraded in some sort but it would haul arse. A cop stopped him walking into a restaurant to tell him the tires he had were rated for a MPH greater than his cruiser could get to.

Pretty ridiculous car for a local executive to drive around but it was a fun story.
I used to have a bag full of Scotty's. Pre Scotty stamped Titleist, OG bullseye, handful of CT's, "prototypes", production run Tei3, oil cans, studio stainless, red x, etc. but the one that got away....the Futura.

My favorites were these three "prototype" knock offs he did.
Beached studio stainless center shaft with the three seemore dots on the heel.
Tour dot prototype that had a 4-5" long slant neck newport with a SSS insert.
Oil Can prototype that was a 1.5 that had the sexiest finish I think I've ever seen on a putter.

Wild part is I gamed all of them.

This will depend on what you're looking for but a carry stand bag, the king of the land is Hoofer. I don't think I've ever had a different bag starting with the legendary K56. Hoofer dominate high school and college golf bags but my college bag finally died. I was told our team now uses the titleist carbon bags so I ordered one and I have to say, its a sleeper. My hardest adjustment are the straps because Ping has perfected it but Titleist uses a slightly different format which took a little getting used to.

TLDR,
Hoofer
Titleist Carbon 4
He bought that car at the Zaxby’s co founder (Townley) auto auction a few months ago.
I had two putters sitting in the garage so I bought new shafts, 17” grips, and went to the putting green. I tinkered with the weight a little (lead tape) and I found a new gamer. I’m dabbling with changing my spider but it’s so comfortable at 35.5” I am unsure adding the 2.5-3” will see any noticeable difference.

I found their Berkshire series to be even better.

Not discounting Google, I think they have an excellent perspective. What’s hilarious, their TSMC episode came out about 2-3 months before their stock had a crazy run. I invested a few dollars, wish it was more.

I think it’s important for investors to keep in touch with this podcast.

I just asked my mom (perks of all being together) where we were and they were in the The Esplanade on 63rd. My mom went back a year ago to see a friend and she agrees with your statement that the whole area is going to be a mess in the next few years.
Where in El Con? My parents ended up buying a place for our last two years (64th) and sold their house to an incoming family from India. Whole place is so different than when we left in 2008. The whole front side facing 34th is completely different. Last time we were there, end of 2023, we went through what we called the back side for Leadbetter but holy shite that whole side is way more than just the original townhomes and soccer fields.
Graduated Pendleton 2007.

No scholarships but a lot of kids are either filthy rich or have a handful of family members that come together to support the annual tuition. I knew a few kids from Texas that had like 5-6 family members that paid the total tuition vs just parents. We had kids who flew home every weekend on parents PJs. It was a wild experience at 15.

I wouldn't say they have many kids that are year over year, unless filthy rich terrible parents. A few kids were there for one year with two summers and then went back home. It isn't for the faint of heart. Very hard at that age to continue pushing yourself to that level. A lot of kids had college paid for after that so the parents just pre-paid for college.

Shoot one of my closest friends (pro LPGA player) her parents basically bankrupted themselves getting her through the program until she went pro and had a $15m sponsorship windfall.
Then there was Peter Uhlein who used to fly private to AJGA events on the Acushnet jet while we all rode the big bus or rode in panel vans.
We do only because she has a separate form of earnings that has to go to an account in her name for medical liability purposes (when she covers shifts for the other MDs in her group). We both have access to all of our banking, retirement, brokerage, Amex, etc accounts. She’s so financially illiterate she doesn’t understand why any of it means but we at least discuss it.

Kiiiiinda wild someone would hide this from their spouse. Especially when consumer debt can be tied to both parties when married.
We renovated a house in 2018 with all LED cans. Over the 6 years, I have replaced a handful but we sourced them from a reputable online company and they replaced them for free (under their warranty). Not only did they replace the single light but they would usually send me a 6 pack. When we sold the house I left maybe 30 brand new lights in the attic.
Honestly he shouldn’t have been there because Paige had a stock 150 yard shot and made a trash swing. She is clearly not as good as advertised, not remotely close. The only person who is likely better than advertised is Brad.

Agree with this if they balance it with a few better golfers.

huge comeback on the second day
this was an epic collapse and made for excellent viewing.

The par 3 being a stroke play event was a genius move because now every shot is very important whereas an errant drive can be made up and still a chance at par. Whereas a bad tee shot on the par 3 was an immediate bogey.

I have a kind of crazy idea, but if the first two days were captained by an actual non playing pro that was there only to "coach" the team through their matches, I think that would lead to better misses and likely better golf. Once they get into the 3-man teams its everyone for themselves. They should also sweeten the purse somehow to get the teams to actually go for those wild bets Dave made.
