I agree, mostly because without internet and cell phones, people talked to each other more. I grew up in a Southern town of 12,000. Parts were divided but with basketball and football, I spent a good bit of time with whites and blacks. There were 3 blacks that I spent a good bit of my HS time with. When white people questioned it, I told them those 3 friends I trust with my life. I knew if shite went down, we were in it together. We went to several parties and bon fires, always stuck together.
I knew several fellow whites (knew them my entire life) that I could throw farther than I could trust.
Hope the truth comes out in this young man’s case.

So its kind of dumb to go straight to "he was killed by the white people that appears to be his friends". It is possible, but the better assumption would be that something happened that either the friends simply didn't know about or something happened, they were scared as shite and left without telling someone, but if it was something that others knew about, odds are they would have informed someone. There are a lot of possibilities. Anything can happen, but I would bet the farm that race was not a factor at all. I know those people would love to see a black person killed by a white person because some race baiting lawyer will be right on it trying to sue whoever they can.

I would even say this. All of these people making this into a racial issue is like people that kid would never be around.

But if he was drinking and couldn't swim.. That is probably the direction you would start going in.
