The vast majority of the responses, especially early on before the trolls found it, is staggering. The liberals following this twitter account love the idea. I was expecting one sarcastic tweet after another but nope.

I thought this should have been done to NOPD after Katrina. Turns out God was just mad about all those redundant Tax Assessors though.

I expect private security forces begin to thrive.

I know. I found it and expected the guy to get just roasted. But nope. There are lawyers offering pro Bono services to help him push it through the council.

Well, they had their chances to handle that psycho cop many times before. They are paying big time now.

But they hate capitalism too. So they would never allow that.

I suspect business, industry and neighborhoods will buy into this. Not the cities.
After all, police are not here to protect anyone. That's 100% on the individual.
Progressives still haven't learned the laws of unintended consequence.

Yep, in Rome there are carbineri standing on every corner armed to the teeth with APCs parked nearby.
The police in europe are actually hyper-militarized nowadays, and for good reason (hint: "refugees")

Maybe some of the mayor’s exboyfriends will sign up.

Did I miss reading somewhere that it has been proven that every single cop on the Minneapolis force is a hate-filled racist a-hole?
If every organization in the country had to disband because it had a few assholes in it, then there wouldn't be much left.

I always say there's some kids you can tell "That stove is hot, don't touch it." Other kids have to touch it and get burned to learn their lesson.
This would be a good case study for all the hardcore anti-police people to realize "Ohhh, I see now. This is anarchy. I guess we really do need police."
