Get ready for the riots now when he's acquitted.

He should 100% be found guilty, IMO.

If I get in a fight in Florida I’m gonna let you swing first and then murder you. Wtf?

If I had a dollar for every person I've seen parked in a handicap spot that wasn't handicap, I'd be rich. At a gas station especially, I just don't think it is something worth getting into an argument over.

Stand your ground law has tons of wiggle room, but, like the Joe McKnight case, I don't think it was reasonable to fear for your life especially when you instigated the whole thing.

hope jury does what is right and free this man. He was protecting himself and stopped a pos from hurting others.

Names aren't context? How many recent florida shootings have been in the news?

Completely disagree. While Mcglockton should not have shoved him he is clearly stepping backwards and not a threat when Drejka pulled the trigger.

It doesn't have as much room as you think......but like you I think the shooter instigated it.

Serious question, why manslaughter as opposed to second degree murder?

EDIT: nvm. I think I see why:

LINK

quote:

Second Degree Murder: Second degree murder in Florida involves an unlawful intentional killing that lacks the premeditation requirement of first degree murder. In order to be convicted of second degree murder in Florida it must be shown that the accused acted with a depraved mind and without regard for human life.

Voluntary Manslaughter: Voluntary manslaughter involves an unlawful intentional killing that society considers to be less morally blameworthy than murder because the killer was provoked in some way and committed the killing out of an emotional response in the heat of passion.

Plus when the other guy is backing away. Stand your ground means you don't have to retreat, but not that you get to shoot someone retreating.

Manslaughter is an "act out of passion, heat of the moment" type of thing. Second degree has an element of planning and carrying out a plan to a certain degree meaning.

Or the guy that was shot was defending his girlfriend or wife, who was attacked by the shooter.
