Are you sure that you're not a preacher? That's the kind of useful, self serving shite that you could use to absolve yourself from the pulpit. Think about it; it's a good job.
God forgave Mr. Rizzo the moment that Rizzo sat alone in a room and silently asked God to forgive the Sin of having hot repeated and sweaty sex with the 18 year old woman. WOMAN. Not child. That 18 year old woman is not innocent. She need to ask God for forgiveness, too.
And so does Mrs. Rizzo! She is not without Sin! Who is SHE to defy God by not forgiving Pastor Rizzo??
The majority of the Christian congregations in the USA by a very wide margin would agree with all that I preach here to you in this post:
Pastor R is Forgiven by God the moment he quietly asks for this forgiveness, alone in a room, or even on a crowded bus. From that moment, the 18 year old, her parents, and Mrs. Rizzo all need to step back and ask themselves a simple question: God Forgave Pastor R immediately, why do I think that my own Judgment is superior to Almighty God?
Pastor R is Saved and going to Heaven. Maybe the 18 year old, her parents, and Mrs. Rizzo need to think about being Saved and think less about Hating a Saved and Forgiven Pastor R.
I think that I have the theology correct here -- by a wide margin, the majority of Christian congregations here in the USA agree with my summary of the applicable theology.
I certainly do welcome any counter-arguments or corrections to what I perceive the applicable theology to be.

Televangelism still baffles me as to their success. There is always an audience.

What about it is obnoxious? I attend that church and I think there’s a great sense of community there. Everyone is welcome. Do you have any clue how much that church gives back to the community?
Get over yourself
Sometimes points just prove themselves....

Very true...buy maybe Dino should do something besides preach? Plenty of guys in the forgiveness bc they got busted business.
It will never be for me to tell another person what they should or shouldn’t be doing. I don’t know how everything went down with his old church, but it seems like he’s doing a lot of great things now to help people and for that I commend him and his family.

Agreed. Just sometimes makes one ponder.

When I tell them I'm Catholic, they normally stop asking.

Agreed also, I think through all of the scenarios myself.

Kanye & Kim have seen how much money you can make out of religion so now they are trying their hand at starting a church in L.A. I’m sure this will end well.

That being said my personal belief is that if I give I am not looking for a tax deduction. I also would be worried about “hate” speech problems in the near future and places being told what they can or can’t preach about. The threat would be the loss of that 501c3 status.
My opinion is that a church should have 0 to do with the government in any sort of money capacity.

I told one I'm Buddhist, but his wife has still asked my wife a couple of times.

Not only will they stop asking, they'll stop talking to you altogether.

They should not be tax exempt. Maybe they should receive certain tax credits, but there are far too many scammy churches out there that don’t really practice what they preach. The mega churches are the worst. Healing Place and Church of the King come to mind.

The Church of the King cult on the NS is obnoxious.
I went there a few times and never had a problem. People seemed nice and no one pressured me into anything and no one tried to sell me on the church.
Might have had a different experience but nothing about that church seemed anything like a cult.
