Competent attorneys pay a helluva lot more than $8800 in federal taxes.
I’m not sure why so many are harping in this number. Presumably this is after withholdings since she mentions that she filed her return.
Also, while she may be an attorney, it’s pretty clear based on a review of her profile that her primary job is being a community organizer.

The reasoning is suspect, but I’m always for anyone saying frick taxes

That will work great.
For Trump
Note: anyone withhold during the Obama and Biden years?

So she's actually not competent at anything.

Worked with a dude who tried this.
The IRS got summary judgment and promptly slapped a tax lien on his house.

I bet she also used to say "the wealthy aren't paying their fair share" and "tax the rich"

Does not compute
She is a partner in the M&A division at Skaden Arps (one of the fearsome foursome) so at 31yo, being a junior partner and the fact Skaden has a PPP of over $6 million she makes well over $1 million a year in comp. The $8800 would be under 3% of her Federal tax burden and just her quarterly shortfall, which means the amount is likely very much intentional. It is almost a lock her Federal burden is over $300,000.

I bet they're thrilled about her public comments.

Trump doesn't want your taxes.
Oh…he wants them. Because the heavy lifting of Social Security reform is something he doesn’t have the desire to undertake. Doubt a single politician up there wants to do what is necessary.

Many commenters said they wanted to do the same. Others worried about her. “I’ve gotten a lot of people saying: ‘Rachel, this is illegal,’” Cohen said. “To which I say, with gentleness: ‘I am a competent attorney!’”
A competent attorney would not provide documented evidence of their intentions to commit tax fraud.

None of this is true.

Some people go years without paying their taxes. The Fed eventually catches up to them, even if it's 8-10 years later.

I’m disgusted with the theft and waste of our dollars. Look what the pentagon just spent in wast . I hope funds are slashed by the waste amount. But they won’t be.

Can't decide if I want this to work or fail spectacularly.
This may be a win-win.
