Are most conservative members here single HH income? Would you be open to your wife working and putting kids in daycare?

In the current world and economy, 100%. You're playing with fire if you don't have multiple income steams coming in.

Technically I'm single income household, but my wife is the one working.

Kids all grown or off at college.

Sure. If we had to. But we don't. (My kids are in school).

And my wife staying home makes all of our lives easier.

Checking in. Best choice for raising our kids.

Worth the economic “hit”, although we are doing just fine.

My wife stays home with the kids

No way in hell I'd put them in daycare. But I wouldn't have had kids if I had to put them in daycare

My wife has never worked, other than taking care of the house and kids. Just made 30 years.
It was a decision we made together at the beginning. We both wanted our kids to have her at home, volunteering at school, bring everyone to practices, etc..
We struggled at times and weren't wealthy until all the kids left.

My wife stays home and the kids are working in the Oyster trade.

It's a career with a lot of openings.

I was planning on going fishing on the boat today but didn't wake up in time. So I'm getting ready to light up a j and enjoy the nice weather.

I imagine with the current cost of daycare if you have multiple children it may be cheaper for your wife to stay home for childcare purposes. Or at least pull a part-time gig.

If she wanted to, but it would have to be worth it. Bringing home 2k a month and spending 1k on childcare doesn't make much sense and I'd argue that pretty fiercely. Bringing home 10k a month is a different story.

Single income is stressful af these days, but you can't put a price on kids being raised by their mothers. It's the most important job in the world IMO.

This. We cut back on some things others splurged on, but no regrets, none whatsoever.
