Absolutely! Both myself and my daughter's mom work full time and we don't miss anything. Nobody raised her but us, she just went to "school" earlier than kindergarten.

My wife makes $160k+ and is up for promotion. One more promo and I'm going to be a house husband

I mean to tell you that I wouldn't send my kid to any of the daycares that I visited. I'm well aware that other people have different views/opinions on what is good enough for them, but it wasn't an option for us. The MDO program that my kid attends is a nice middle ground for us and was much nicer than any of the daycares that we visited.

We both work but both have flexible jobs. I do drop off/pickup most days.
She makes a bit more than me but I’m walking out the office right now for the day so it doesn’t bother me.

So after all of the divorce threads on the OT, does anyone think that if a high earning husband divorced his wife she’d be left high and dry? I have a feeling if I ever split with Ms Squatch her income would stay the same, she’d be in the house and I’d be living in a van down by the river working my arse off.

We’re single income, by choice. We home school our youngest, and we made the decision to keep mom at home for the good of the kids. It’s gotten really, really hard to do, finances-wise. But there’s no way we’re sending him to today’s public schools.

Yes, one income HH here with Upper middle class yearly income. I honestly don't know how some people are making it these days.

every home school parent I've met is pretty ideological and talks politics too much.

She would never move to LA. She isn’t from there. My point was that we for us to live a very nice life in an expensive part of the country close to her family requires two incomes. The trade off was moving south and she could stay at home. And yes, there is the discussion about giving up years of training to raise a family. At the end of the day, she is happy doing what she is doing and serving a very underserved patient population. I think she gets annoyed because there are a number of women in my town that don’t work but their husbands are pulling in close if not more than 7 figures.

Single source income ever since the kids were born.
She’s been an awesome stay at home mom. This type of specialization allowed me to focus on my career without having to balance it with hers.
It allowed me to advance in the job quicker than most, and gave me the freedom to relocate for promotions if/when offers too good to turn down arose.
Would do it again.
