Marijuana should be legalized for sale for public consumption. All other drugs should be decriminalized for personal use, but should still be illegal/hard to get. If you want to rip a line of coke off a strippers arse, go ahead. You shouldn't be able to be arrested for possessing and using it. You should still be held accountable for your actions while you're high. If they arrest you for robbing a convenience store. The fact that you had a gram of cocaine on you shouldn't factor into the equation at all. You should just be arrested for robbing the convenience store.

Pretty much my stance.

I'm all for legalizing THC, just not in smokable form. I mean if we're fighting the good fight against cigarettes we can't be hypocritical.

But edibles, oils, etc, legalize the shite out of it.

There are literally hundreds of doctors, psychologists, and other people much smarter than your ignorant arse that all agree psilocybin helps with depression which is a major issue in this country. Not sure why you're laughing at my factual statement that has been studied and agreed upon by medical experts.
There are literally hundreds of doctors that all agree masks help stop COVID. There are literally hundreds of other doctors that all agree masks don't help stop COVID. Which ones are right?

And that is something that has actually been systematically and experimentally studied, unlike mushrooms and depression. To claim there is a broad, research-based medical consensus is laughably ignorant.

Living under a rock? The therapeutic benefits of psilocybin mushrooms have been known for centuries.

We should have a flat tax on goods and services. Income tax, property tax, inheritance tax, etc should all be illegal.

ONCE AGAIN as I've stated several times before....

You should be able to grow your own so that you can consume without being taxed if you indeed want to do so. I'm sure some do this with tobacco. Same for alcohol. For the other 99.9% of people that don't have the time, patience, or inclination to cultivate, there should be a legal option to buy and if people choose that option they will pay a tax that will benefit the community, as is the case with all other consumer goods.

Just decriminalize drugs at the federal level and let states and local municipalities decide what to do with it. Clear everyone's record with non violent/non property crime related drug offenses.

Nixon had to control the hippies and blacks somehow. For those of you out of the loop, that's not hyperbole, that's a verified on record fact.

Decriminalize. Don't legalize.

Legalizing it makes it readily available at every headshop and corner store and gas station across the country. Just decriminalize it and be done with the subject.

You're absolutely correct. There's plenty of research and testing that verifies this.

Conservative Republicans in the senate will block legalization. Not because they give one bit of a shite about you or this country, but because they are bribed by corrupt pharmaceutical, alcohol, law enforcement, and private prison lobbies.

They'll also block it because they don't want to give the Dems a "win." This is the problem with our shitty two-party system. Neither side will do what is right when it gives favor to the other side.

Correct. Pretty sure the act they are voting on includes a 5% federal sales tax.

fact.

Cannabis is far less addictive than opioids, tobacco, and alcohol. Cannabis is also much safer as well. In fact, it is practically impossible to die of an overdose of cannabis. In states where cannabis is legal Opioid overdose deaths have dropped from 20% to 35%.

quote:

The study examined how the changing legal status of marijuana has impacted mortality in the United States over the past two decades. Investigators found that legalization and access to recreational marijuana reduced annual opioid mortality in the range of 20% to 35%, with particularly pronounced effects for synthetic opioids.

You can read the study here.

the American people clearly agree, in both parties and across age groups, sadly the stances of politicians in Congress are slaves to lobbyists and donors
