Marijuana Legalization...The house will vote to legalize next week

Conservative Republicans in the senate will block legalization. Not because they give one bit of a shite about you or this country, but because they are bribed by corrupt pharmaceutical, alcohol, law enforcement, and private prison lobbies. Canada has legalized on the basis of freedom for their citizens. Mexico is legalizing on the basis of freedom for their citizens. It is indeed a freedom issue. If you feel that it's your business whether or not someone else smokes marijuana I say to you this: Why does it matter to you? YOU aren't getting paid by all these powerful lobbyists, so why do you give a shite? It's absolutely none of your business if other people smoke weed. I promise there are plenty things about you that you can focus on improving instead of judging someone for smoking weed. Let's all come together and burn a fattie and let this multibillion dollar industry strengthen our economy like many other states already have. There is no reason we have to keep it illegal in Louisiana so that your politicians can continue to get paid by all the corrupt lobbies who benefit by keeping it illegal. YOU don't see any of that lobby money. As a community we will all benefit by legalizing and taxing.

This is the glaring issue that separates conservatives and libertarians.

Another day, another issue that shows why the two party system kind of sucks

I don't smoke weed, cigarettes or anything else sir. I also don't gamble. But I still voted for legalizing sports betting because if you or anyone else wants to, that is their own damn business and has nothing to do with me.

I'm all for legalizing THC, just not in smokable form. I mean if we're fighting the good fight against cigarettes we can't be hypocritical.
But edibles, oils, etc, legalize the shite out of it.

If your argument is for freedom than we shouldn't be legalizing it for tax revenue

bullshite. I am for letting people grow as much as they want of their own, but do you seriously think most people are going to?? Do people grow their own tobacco plants?? Some maybe, but for the vast majority of people, no. They buy it and it gets taxed.

Why not all drugs? Why just Marijuana?

Oregon is experimenting with this very thing right now. Especially with psilocybin mushrooms because of the benefits it has shown for helping with depression and other issues. Naturally your pharmaceutical companies think you need to buy their incredibly expensive medications to cure depression and everything else so that they can continue to rake in billions by putting it in a pill form.

That's fine with me and I guess it would be taxed if sold in stores but you know we'd come up with some special weed tax. I just don't equate freedom with new taxes. We went to war with the British over a tax on tea

Your ignorant back woods arse can laugh all you want and that is why Louisiana is always going to be 10 years behind everyone else. There are literally hundreds of doctors, psychologists, and other people much smarter than your ignorant arse that all agree psilocybin helps with depression which is a major issue in this country. Not sure why you're laughing at my factual statement that has been studied and agreed upon by medical experts.

I completely agree. These are all freedom/rights issues. We shouldn't have to choose.
